DH has been working mega hours and when the crunch time is over he can take a vacation. He isnt a "beach" person. He wants time to relax and doesnt want to be on the go every day. Any suggestions? We are in NY and can go just about anywhere. I'd prefer warm weather tho.
Mid/Northern California - Napa + San Fran? You can be as busy or relaxed as you want. But would be a long flight from NY. Not sure how much time you have. I don't know if SF would qualify as "warm" but it's reasonable if you are prepared.

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico or Cartagena, Colombia? I haven't been, but I know people who've loved both. They're both colonial towns with pretty architecture, and I'm sure you could happily spend time wandering cobblestone streets and sitting in plazas. Antigua, Guatemala is another option, which I have been to and liked.
How many days? Budget? Max time you're willing to spend on a flight? Time of year so we know if it's warm in these destinations or not?

What do you like to do to relax? Outdoorsy stuff like hiking? Wandering around a city? Sitting poolside with a fruity drink?
The weather will still be nice in the Southwest. I also really like Sedona, and there's lots of outdoorsy and spa type things to do there. Palm Springs is lovely in the winter, especially if you want to escape the snow. It's also summer in the Southern Hemisphere, so if you can afford to go that far there's lots to do.
Costa Rica or Belize perhaps? We went to Costa Rica on our HM and it was nice. We stayed near Arenal and went hiking one day and a hanging bridges tour another. We had tours booked to also do a volcano hike, but we both got really sick (not from the trip - I promise) so we didn't get go. It was a nice trip with some relaxing and also being active.
