Loved, loved, loved this episode. When I heard Eliana would dance with Alex Wong I was ecstatic. However, I think watching her dance with Chehon was even more impressive.

And..........possible spoiler........................................Nigel pissed me off at the end when he said he wouldn't vote for Cyrus. As a judge, keep your opinion to yourself. However, I feel like it was a sympathy statement that would encourage more people to vote for him.

Ditto everything. I loved the Eliana/Alex number, it was just gorgeous.

I don't remember them ever making sure they all did numbers from their genre in the finale before and wonder if they did it just to give Cyrus a push.

I was super annoyed by Nigel's comment as well. I'm sure a lot more people voted for Cyrus because of it, as was intended. I actually voted for the first time all season, I really hope Chehon wins and think that Cyrus winning might cause me to stop watching SYTYCD.

I really like Tiffany and would love to see her win but will be happy either way, they both deserve it.

So many good numbers last night. Eliana is freaking amazeballs. I <3 her. I also recognize that Chehon is a better all-around dancer than Cyrus, but Nigel's comment was definitely unnecessary. (1) The winner is supposed to be America's "favorite" dancer, not the "best" dancer. (2) I hate when something wipes that adorable grin off Cyrus' face. I love him, and I loved his number with Twitch. Twitch can do anything.

I agree that Eliana is the best dancer ever!!!

I dont agree that it is supposed to be americas favorite dancer because of this is the first season that term was used and i believe it was inserted because of Cyrus.

They have left behind many many dancers go in the past because their technique wasnt as good as the other dancers.

I loved Eliana and Tiffany's pole dance...i thought it was amazing.

i also dont think it was wrong for nigel to give his opinion because that is exactly what his job is and he's been giving it all season...however he should have kept his vote to himself!

Eta: they changed it from "best" to "favorite" after Benji won because he wasn't the best...they stopped offering a professional gig too because he couldn't do the job with his background. He was a swing dancer and part of the prize was a job with Celine Dions Vegas show.

Yeah, they've been saying it since the 2nd or 3rd season when it was so obvious that with America voting, it was going by popularity and not by skill level. I think they just emphasized it a lot this season because of Cyrus.

They've never harped on it this much though and I think it's purely because of Cyrus. Nigel&Co must be catching a lot of flack for Cyrus still being there and are constantly on the defensive. They haven't judged him anywhere near as harsh as they have other dancers and I think that's also helping him win votes.

"America's Favorite" has generally proved to be a decent all-around dancer. That's why s/he is the favorite, because every routine, despite style, is done well. Cyrus is great in his specific genre, but he is a terrible all-around dancer. Terrible. His lifts look downright painful, the choreography is obviously simplified for him, and his dance partners are being weighed down because of his total lack of skill. Look at Eliana. Her dancing with Cyrus in comparison to her dancing with Alex is jaw-dropping. And his leaps! Omg, his leaps. The other night I literally sighed and said "Oh hunny, bless your heart for trying." I cringe every time he dances. I'm honestly embarrassed for him.

Chehon, on the other hand, is a gorgeous dancer and has performed well in several styles. He deserves this. Cyrus deserves to be the next Twitch, but he does not deserve to win.

Oh, and can I add that I hate that it has to be one male and one female winner. Just name two winners. Last season it would have easily been Melanie and Sasha. This season I'd love to see Eliana and Tiffany win over either of the boys.

The entire Paso Doble the other night was cringeworthy. I kept waiting for there to be some real footwork of some sort, I mean it's supposed to be ballroom, right?

probably why i never noticed it before then. I never heard them say it before this season. this season i think they mentioned it every show.
