What food do you serve at book club? Ours will be meeting at 7:00pm so we don't need a full meal but I'd like some finger food. gluten free/veg options welcomed.

When I did an at home book club with a group of ladies we always did it as a tea. We had cucumber, chicken salad, egg salad and watercress sandwiches along with scones.

Mine meets at 7:30 and we do a mix of apps and desserts, but each person usually brings something and the host maybe has 2-3 things, and we always joke that we always have too much food and we should stop bringing so much, but no one really wants to stop. Favorites among us are chips and salsa, veggie roll ups (veggies and ranch rolled up in a tortilla and cut into small rounds), pizza bread that one girl always makes, cheese and crackers, brownies/cookies, hummus and carrots/crackers, and someone usually makes some sort of sweet dip too.

We have simplified and rotate hosts. We usually have wine, or a cocktail, a nonalcoholic option, and then a cookie, or bar and a simple appetizer like chips with salsa and guacamole or a small amount of cheese and crackers and nuts and grapes.
We usually meet on a weekday evening and it's potluck. We have a secret FB group and usually will post what we're bringing so we don't have duplicates.
