I found one for cheap on Overstock - if your windows are a standard size, try that. Also, Ikea has some good inexpensive options depending on how large your window is.

The black out curtains I bought at target work great. They're about $20 a panel.
Do they make the room really dark? I currently have blankets hanging because my kids like it DARK for nap and in the morning but would to get actual blackout curtains. I tried one set years ago and wasn't impressed
We have white faux wood blinds on all the windows and then have PBK light blocking curtains that we pull shut.
ladybug, I didn't like the target ones a few years ago, but I really like the PBK ones and we had a set from JCP in our room years ago that also made it really dark.

They made his old room pretty dark during the day. I mean, you could still see without additional light once your eyes adjusted, so it wasn't pitch black, but it was very dark. I haven't personally been in his new room during the day yet because I've been at work (we literally just moved on Monday), but when I put him in bed at night, it is pitch black. You can't see anything. I think the fact that he has blinds also helps with this. DH said yesterday that his room was very dark during nap time. We have always kept DS's room dark for all sleeping times and feel like these work really well. I am 100% sure they work better than hanging blankets over the windows, FWIW. A lady I used to babysit for did this in her kid's room and while it was dark, it wasn't nearly as dark as DS's room is with these curtains.
We had those honeycomb shades in our old bedroom and those coupled with a blackout curtain would make the room pitch black in the middle of the day. That's not a cheap fix though. Those shades are pricey from what I understand.
