I started thinking about a double stroller recently, and I started pacnicking. I drive a Civic. Can I even fit a double stroller in my trunk? I really don't want to have to buy a new car right now. I want my car to last another 3-5 years (I bought it brand new in DEc 2000 so it's already old - but it's paid for!!), which is hopefully when I will go back to work FT. Any recs? TIA!
We have a Graco DuoGlider that took up almost the entire trunk of our Pontiac Sunfire.
So, yes, it might fit. No, you won't put anything else in there. And it will get torn up pretty fast. Our front to back stroller is pretty useless now. I'm in the market for a cheap side by side. I think I might have found it, I just have to get the moola together to buy it!
I was checking out the Baby Jogger double stroller. I can't remember the exact name of it, but I remember it was super cool when I was in the market for a double stroller. The seats were tandem and could be moved to face front or backwards.
I would look it up but I am afraid I'll be sad I know that even now when I see it in public I have to look the other way, LOL. What looking away does, I am not sure, Ha.
But I did lots of research and this was the stroller I was going to buy.
We got the Chicco Double stroller to adapt to our carseat. I really like it. I had the duo glider I got used and it served it's purpose for a while, but was so heavy and hard to push. I would definitely recommend mine. I got it for a good price at Babiesrus when I traded in an old carseat for a 25% off coupon.
I have the Baby Jogger City Select; I believe this is what Kathy was referring to. I absolutely love it! I cannot say enough good things about it. It's a tandem stroller when used as a double. It steers easily with one hand. The seats can be configured in different ways (facing forward, backward, one forward and one backward). It has a HUGE storage basket underneath; I have used mine to go grocery shopping with the kids and I probably put 7-8 bags of groceries in the basket. It folds fairly compact; however, it can only be folded as a single. The beauty about this stroller is that you can use it as a single before LO#2 arrives; you can use it as a double with your current infant seat (you just need to get the appropriate adapter), and when Zoe is bigger and no longer wants to sit in the stroller, Baby Jogger came out with a glider board that you attach to the back of the frame that she can stand on.
Downside to this stroller is that it is pricey but you can definitely save some $$ if you get the previous year's model. Also, you have to get the accessories separately and the cost can add up. My advise is to shop for these on ebay as you can get new but open box items for half the retail. I bought a 2010 model when they were coming out with 2011 and paid less than $450 for the stroller, second seat, carseat adapter. It would have cost me $750 upwards if I went with the new model. HTH!
I don't have a double but I have the Baby Jogger City Elite as my single and if I ever need a double I will absolutely get the City Select. I love my Baby Jogger.

I have the Graco sit to stand LX or something like that, from BRU. I love it, except the size sucks. But I think most double strollers are massive. Remind me to show it to you when I see you.
