Mine is only tangentially parenting related: how many bras do you own and wear regularly?
I've bought one new one since weaning 2.5 months ago, and I'm debating how many more to buy. During late pregnancy and >a year of nursing, I only ever had two at a time that fit, one black and one nude, so I feel like my perspective has gotten warped on what is normal.
Naturally the bra I settled on is like $70, but I'm in a
I am NOT the person to answer this question because I have been pregnant, nursing, or both for 5 years straight. So my bra size has been all over the place. While nursing I had 2 bras in 1 size, then my band size got smaller as I lost the pregnancy weight and I have 2 nursing bras in the smaller size.
As far as non nursing bras, I probably have 2 maybe 3 in each size???
I'm with you, $70 is a lot to pay for a bra and because of my size the only ones they make are $70+. BUT, a good bra is worth it. In a few months I'm going to head to Nordstrom again and drop $$ on 4 really good non-nursing bras. I can't wait!
I have 4 that I rotate. When I was nursing, I only had 1 real nursing bra. The others were just a size up from the bras that I like wearing, and I had 3 or 4 of those. I have 2 nude and 2 that are colors. They are old and I need to replace them. The kind I like is from Soma and it's around $40-50 but usually there are sales. A bra is something that you are going to get a lot of worth out of, like pennies per wear, so spend the money!

Usually 3 bras.
My question: for Breast milk sitting in the fridge, mine gets like heavy cream sticking to the sides. When I want to use it, do I just shake it up to try to get that back in the bottle? I hope that makes sense.
starryfish, do you mean in bags or in bottles? If you mean in bottles, try to swirl instead of shake so you don't get air bubbles, but yes, you want to mix that back in. When you warm it up to feed it tends to dissolve back into the milk. All that fat is good for baby.
I own and wear 3, I have ordered 2 more because 3 wasn't cutting it. I am a F so $$$, I have bought any in 2 years and my trusty 3 are starting to show signs of aging 😜

I only ever have 3 bras. I wear each 2-3 days, and wash on the weekends. Does Nordstrom sell your bra Susie? Check the Rack for the same one! (My $70 Nordstrom bra was $25 or $30 at the Rack).
My question: remind me again when I need to start putting him down drowsy but awake?
Also, what are the pads that will catch milk? I'm losing probably an ounce or more on the opposite side when I nurse.
I just bought 2 new bras as presents to myself after weaning and they're so so comfortable that I don't even want to wear any of my others. I don't even care they were $70 each. So 2, one nude one black. I have a whole drawer full though, mostly cheap bras from Target or VS.

Nordstrom sells the brand and the bra style, but not my size. It is a Thirdlove half cup size, and Nordstrom only seems to only sell the standard cup sizes. When I returned the B&C to Nordstrom, I let their customer service know that I was returning both to buy B1/2 directly from Thirdlove, but I would have happily bought my size from them if they carried it. Maybe eventually... but in the meantime, I don't think I can get my bra/size anywhere but directly.
My question: remind me again when I need to start putting him down drowsy but awake? We tried starting around 4m, but never actually succeeded until after we did CIO at 7m. We were "drowsy but awake" failures.

I've got 3 nude, 2 black, one red (DH bought), one white, and a purple and pink bralette. I tend to wear a bra up to a week before rotating through (not exactly the poster child for cleanliness).
2 (pretty pink patterned w/ lace) are from Paris (they're the same; I bought two because I loved the first one so much. I will cry when they eventually meet their demise)
2 (white and black) are from a lingerie store that I bought when I got fitted after weaning DS; they fit like a dream and are super comfy and flattering
1 cheapo Walmart special that is not the most flattering but is non-underwire and super comfy, so I wear it with outfits when "shape" doesn't matter - lol
I have two that are legit "wear out of the house like a grown up" bras. Both are long overdue for replacement.
Then I have lots of ill-fitting sports bras crammed into a drawer next to my tech-y workout clothes. Then I have two...I don't know what you would call them. Sleep bras? Lounge bras? Pull over the head, very minimal support - super comfortable, but not really effective for large chests. They are not fit for public consumption, they only serve to keep things from getting too wild.
Perfect. Thanks! I will swirl instead of shake. It's in bottles In the fridge
I find I'd have to swirl for like 10+ minutes to get it moving so now I just shake. I thought I read that the fear of "damaging" breastmilk by shaking was overblown. Off to google....

Drowsy/awake, probably 3ish months or as soon as they'll let you so they get used to it (but don't sweat it too much b/c the 4 month wakeful and teething may throw a wrench into things).
I have 3 nursing bras. One black, one white, and one polka dot. As far as I know, I can only fit into one of my old non nursing bras. I hope I can get pg sooner than later so that I can be one day closer to finding real bras that fit!
Question: how many weeks should it take to transition from BM to WCM? I plan to keep nursing for wake up and bedtime after I stop pumping, but do I need to stop before I transition, or just make it work with whatever I produce or....?
I didn't really think about it. E got BM in his bottles during the day for another month after I stopped pumping. Sometimes, like if we were out of town and I didn't bring enough BM, he got a little WCM in his bottle. He transferred to the toddler room at 13 months, and we switched him to all cups at that point, no bottles. It just happened to coincide with the last of my BM stash, so he also went to all WCM at that point. We continued to nurse morning, before naps, before bed, and MOTN at that point. It wasn't an issue at all.

My questions: -what do you use to carry bottles to/from daycare? -my wedding rings stopped fitting during pregnancy. My baby is 10 weeks now and they still don't go over my knuckle. Time to resize or wait a Little longer?

-A lunch cooler bag. Our daycare is about 10 minutes from our house, so we didn't bother putting an ice pack in it. -Wait.
