Remember how I got my bff a hipster candle in a mason jar as a joke present because she lives in manbun Brooklyn?
Well, TSA thought it might be a bomb so my bag was subject to intense swoop in 3 person screening and lots of those wipes that detect bad stuff. All I got was a secondary pass with a handheld metal detector wand thing (no pat down).
Damn hipsters.
Anyway, I packed my bag tight and light. It was like a rubiks cube up in there. Once it was clear I'm not smuggling explosives, they complimented my packing job.
I once got extra screening because I was leaving Wisconsin and my bag was LOADED with delicious cheese. The TSA folks were very sweet and understanding about it, LOL.

This happened to my H too! What is it about cheese that is so suspicious?
On my recent flight home, my mom packed me food wrapped in tin foil. Doh! That was dumb. I didn't even realize the metal would be an issue. I need to remember that for future flights. It was a super long line for the extra screening, good thing we were actually early for once!

Apparently cheese looks awfully similar to blocks of C-4 explosive on the x-ray screen. Who knew?
So, EVERY time I fly I get screened and they stop me to examine my right ankle for as long as I can remember. I have never had surgery on my leg/ankle. I have had an X-ray of that ankle that was completely negative (and I saw it) because I had a horrible sprain. I don't even have a tattoo on that ankle. I can't for the life of me figure out wtf they see there. (I have a long history of working in Radiology and my degree is in Radiologic Science so I'm extremely familiar with X-ray equipment)
I've never asked bc it's always busy and the TSA people would probably think I was nuts or suspicious.

I get this too, but for me it's my left knee. They always ask if I've had surgery or if I'm concealing something, and I always respond "nope, just fat!" And they always laugh. I think this happens a lot (although I presume it's not actually fat, but more likely a bone density issue).

This happened to me a couple weeks ago when we flew. Just my right ankle, nothing else...same as you, no tattoos or surgeries or anything that should cause suspicious, I was very confused.
They didn't check my hair though and they almost always do if I have it in a bun or ponytail, so I guess they are just migrating south.

I've never heard of them checking the hair! Well, I have fine hair so that's probably why.

I do have chunky legs, but they are equally fat!!! Why are they picking on one side?!
