We're dog sitting and the dog hasn't peed or pooped since before we picked him up yesterday evening. He normally doesn't go when he's on his walks. But he hasn't gone while out on the patio either. Normally he goes poop/pee on their cement patio.
Just keep taking him out - and maybe stay out a while next time. Dogs can sometimes freak out and not potty for a long time in a stressful situation. Is he eating/drinking?

We're going to take him for a long walk in a bit. Although, I still don't think he'll go. They say he doesn't go while on walks.
I'd do the long walk, then go right back to the patio and give him a while. Is the patio in a fenced yard? If so, play with him out there for a bit too?

Agree with others. I know it seems like a crazy long time (it IS definitely really abnormal), but I'm 98.9% he's just stressed with new situation & he'll go soon. The long walks really help my pup when he's a bit constipated, too, so I definitely agree with FastHands Good Luck!! (Sorry for the pup-sitting stress!)

Yeah, our patio is fenced in. I let him go in and out the whole day. That's what he's used to at his home. But he mostly just followed me wherever I went.
Luckily Princess Larrie has been staying behind the baby gate in the front of the house and hiding for the most part. So I haven't had to worry about her getting out.

Oh. The dog is at your house and not his own? Poor guy. He is probably just stressed and does not know where to go. I originally thought you were at the pups house.
Our last dog would never pee when he was boarded. As soon as we picked him up he would pee forever. I swear one time he was going for over 5 minutes straight! I realize your house is more relaxing than being boarded but the dog could still be stressed.
