It was! I'm drinking coffee now, and feeling less grumpy already.
Oh good! I have a backup stash of shitty coffee that I use for cold brew. It's like a security blanket - I could always dig into my Kirkland stash lol.
I have my third cold of this pregnancy. I get colds that full out knock me on my ass. I was looking forward to swimming this morning but slept instead because I feel like crud.
Wait how did I miss an opportunity for free coffee?? How do I make this happen next year?
I think you just have to put your birthday in your Starbucks app/join rewards.
Yup. wambam you just need to have registered for starbucks rewards and give them your actual birthday. The reward goes live two weeks before your birthday and I think expires like 2 days after or something like that. I always preorder on the app, so it just pops up with "Happy birthday! reward!" and I click redeem and tada! free coffee.
I have four teaching days until Spring Break and on Friday, tonnnnsssss of kids will be absent (I've signed more pre-arranged absence forms than I can count). I need some down time (even if that down time includes having my upper wisdom teeth removed)

My parents will be here Friday and they'll get to see me race on Saturday (pray to everything that I don't have any issues). They are super-proud of my running/triathlon adventures and I'm really excited for them to be here.
Plus, Dad hasn't been here since August 2013 (not that I'm counting), AND he's going to move around my washer/dryer so that my laundry room doesn't suck anymore.

Also, I'm LOLing at the description for my half on Saturday. It's an evening race.
"We will start at dusk from the Welcome Center and watch the sun go down as we head into the first two miles and finish under the moon."
Except the race starts at 5:30pm and sunset is at 7:38pm. I think the RD miscalculated and forgot to account for DST. My ass is slow, so yeah I'll be finishing under the moon for sure.
I took a mental health day from work yesterday so now I feel like it's Monday. Enough said. Although, going for a run in the daylight yesterday and then bingewatching Gilmore Girls while snuggling my puppy was very much worth it :-)

I'm already dying for R to find another job. He's crimping my work-at-home style because I feel like I need to offer for him to come with me when I do stuff, plus I have to eat real meals instead of a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter or something. It's ridiculous. Argh. (And YES, I know this makes me sound ridiculous. I'm ok with that.)
The movers came and packed up all of our stuff yesterday, but it still doesn't feel real that we're moving soon. I'm on leave this week, but just got called in for a random drug test, so I'm sitting here waiting in the lobby for my turn. On the plus side, my mom comes to visit today!

this doesn't sound ridiculous at all. Perfectly reasonable. Imagine if you worked at an office and suddenly your H was just like...chilling in a chair in the corner. AWKWARD.
I just realized that a little local tri that I wanted to do again this year is the weekend before the race I have pegged as my first Oly. Ever. The Oly is definitely the A race for the fall. (this is September/October)
The local race is a sprint - and it's short even for a sprint - the swim is 400m and shallow (I actually jogged the majority of it last year rather than try to swim through the bay chop/current - it was windy), the bike has all of two small hills and as per my watch was only 11 miles, and the run is nearly pancake flat.
The training plan I was looking at has a 23 min swim/47 min bike brick in the slot where this would go...if I'm just treating it as a fun outing and not like BALLS TO THE WALL RACING, can I call I just call this my final brick? My total time from the race last year was only 10 minutes more than that brick workout...
If MH does it too though I'm not 100% sure I could not hold back. If I had any chance of catching him on the run like I did last year, I'd be going for it. Because how could I not??
Or I could just go and maybe volunteer and hit it next year...it's just up the street from my IL's. Save myself the entry fee...because despite being a tiny wee non-usat race - they still charge $85 for it. (county parks and recs fundraiser)

You're right. as soon as I typed, "not balls the wall racing" I had a mental image of myself just loafing along on the bike while people whizz past me and was like I hate getting passed. I can deal if the person passing me is on a full on tri bike and moving at like 24 mph...but if somebody I COULD beat passed me...it'd be on. Even without the Husband as Rabbit issue, I'm unlikely to truly take it easy. hmph.

This is so helpful to recognize in yourself though. I would hate for you to set yourself up for a disappointing A race.
I'm back on my bike 4 days/week and holy hell my butt hirts. I really should not have neglected my bike all winter because my butt is not conditioned anymore :‘-/

I found the waterproof iPod shuffle for $130 but I have spent so much on other trinkets for the other sports that I'm balking at spending that much on something else.

Thanks!! I'm getting a pull buoy since the gym doesn't have those in order to help with drills. I also forgot my watch so counting laps was terrible!!! I'll check out that site. I need some guidance and that will help! THANKS!
