I know the Becca illuminating primers are lovely. But I missed the sale yesterday.
what else in that category have people tried or have on their list to try? Stand-alone products or things that work better as foundation or moisturizer mix-ins welcome.
Not looking for targeted highlighters - I've got more of those than anybody could reasonably need. Looking for more of a whole face "lit from within" kind of effect.
I've seen some lackluster reviews of the l'oreal magic lumi primer. the elf mineral infused primer in radiant glow looks interesting.
I'm a big fan of the MAC Strobe Cream. It's technically a moisturizer so it's not thick, and it's not at all glittery. It also comes in a "travel size" which is pretty generous and not that expensive. Or if you're ordering something from MAC they usually offer it as a deluxe sample.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I think there was an Armani one people like. Fluid sheer.
I have tried a sample of this. I would not call it a primer. It's more of something you'd mix in with foundation or primer to add an illuminating effect. It's super expensive though...like $60? I thought it was really nice but not worth the price tag.
wawa, personally, if I had to pick just one prestige item to use for the rest of my life, it would be the Becca backlight primer. It is my absolute favorite product.
How about those Coverfx illuminating drops. I usually see good reviews about those for mixing into foundations.
I also have one of these. Moonlight maybe? It's sort of pinkish. I bought a bottle because on Black Friday I was able to buy a $200 CoverFX gift certificate for $80.
It's a really lovely highlighter. Really lovely. But I do not like the one I have when it's mixed with foundation. It gives my face a metallic look. Worse than when I mix liquid Becca highlighter with foundation, which also gives me a robot face. I would absolutely not recommend these drops for this purpose.

I love the Laura Geller Filter Finish. It's an all over powder that you set with. Sorry, you missed the sale on that one too, but it's worth the price.

I know you said no highlighters, but have you played around with using Benefit High Beam as a mix in to your foundation? Or probably any other liquid highlighter would work. I like that it sheers out my foundation a bit.
