So I ordered my dog a new bed and crate. Just opened the box the bed came in and they shipped me 3 beds. The 3 beds were individually wrapped inside a larger plastic bag, which I guess why the error happened. I'm going to contact Amazon, but I was curious as to if this had happened to anyone else and what Amazon's response was. Did they tell you to keep the items, ship them back or what. Luckily I didn't totally destroy the box when opening like I normally do so I can ship back with minimal difficulty if they offer porch pick up.

I have had something like this happen twice. Both times I called, and they told me to keep the item. I will always contact them, I woulf feel like I stole the item if I didn't.
I ordered a 3-pk of Sonicare toothbrush heads and they accidentally sent me FOUR of the 3-pks (a $75 mistake). I chatted with them - they sent me a return label and I sent them back.
They might offer you a prepaid label to ship back, or they might say to keep them. Either way my understanding is you are not obligated to pay for or return items that were sent to you unsolicited, so they can't charge you for them.
I've emailed them, so we'll see what they have to say. The beds were $24 each, so it was an $48 mistake on their part. However it was a pretty big box, so they'll have to offer porch pick up for the return, I don't want to have to drive it to a dropoff. I mean I could, but I just don't want to.
I have found that Amazon customer service has gotten really bad. And nearly everything is sent via Amazon shipping for our house in Houston. And they are terrible, Amazon doesn't care. Nothing arrives in 2 days any longer and they customer service reps don't give a shit. I am tempted to cancel prime since Target has subscriptions now.
Currently finishing up Live Chat...this doing the right thing is painful. I've had to clarify multiple times what happened. It really isn't that hard. Their customer service and response used to be much better.
They are going to issue a return label, which I said was fine as long as they do porch/home pick up.

My husband ordered 200 pounds of cat litter that was marked as delivered. We never got the shipment, so he called and they sent a new one. A few days later, I came home to 400 pounds of cat litter in my driveway, and Amazon said it would be more to ship it back, so just keep it.

...HOW MANY CATS DO YOU HAVE?
I didn't mean to have my capslock on, but I'm keeping it because it seems appropriate.
I had issues with shipping so the item was cancelled. I was credited back for the item. I reordered and 3 days later the original item made it to my house.

I ordered a box spring in Dec and it was guaranteed to be delivered by 12/24 (I had overnight guests coming for Christmas and had only a mattress on the floor). On 12/24, they changed the delivery date to 12/26. I called customer service and was told the local delivery company doesn't work on weekends. I complained that I never would have ordered the box spring without the guaranteed delivery date and now it was too late to go out and buy one locally. They gave me a full credit, an extra month of prime and then told me that if the box spring wound up being delivered anyway, to just keep it. Sure enough, it showed up on 12/26.

I've started complaining every single time something isn't here when Amazon says it will be. Our two day shipping usually takes longer (three days plus no weekends, so if I order Wednesday it should come Monday). But darn it if they say Monday and it doesn't show I'm complaining. I get a free month of prime each time.

How recently did you last get a free month, and he did you contact them?
I got a free month once, when it was really outrageous. The next time I contacted them it was only a few days late, and they only offered me a few bucks.
I'd love to know how people get a free month of Prime. I have Prime and whenever I call to complain that something didn't arrive when they promised it would, they're all "too bad, so sad."

This week. I think I've gotten 5-6 free months since January? I just email customer service
