I don't know much about the different kinds of Kindles.
I do know that I work in a library and a few people have brought in their Paperwhites needing help with downloading ebooks and the Paperwhites seem difficult to use. My limited experience with them has convinced me that I would never get a Paperwhite, for what that is worth!

They're extremely easy to use IMO. I love mine.
ETA: I will say that some LIBRARIES do not have intuitive processes to access ebooks. But that's hardly the kindle's fault, and would happen no matter what type you were using.

Agreed. The devices are amazing, particularly the Paperwhite/Voyage/Oasis lines that let you read comfortably in the dark.
sapphireblue,my library's digital library website was terrible and I took my computer and devices to the library to have them help me set up the account and figure out how to borrow books. But when it got to the part of actually getting the borrowed digital book onto my kindle (it links directly to my amazon account), the sweet librarian had no idea how to get the book on the Kindle and I actually had to show her how that part of the process worked.

We have Overdrive for ebooks.
I don't know, you guys seem to definitely have more experience with them so I defer to your opinion!
My coworker was helping a couple of different people and each time it took her so much longer than it usually would with other devices. The people who owned the devices were clueless too so that was probably part of the issue. One didn't even have an Amazon account and didn't know how to set one up.
I have a voyage and I love it. But that's because I started off a million years ago with the kindle keyboard and I was used to the non touch screen features to turn pages, etc, and the voyage has that option. So I can put it in a Ziploc bag and read while taking a bath and still be able to turn pages My dh has the Paperwhite and he's satisfied with that. I think either way you'll be happy.

Oh yay, this is exactly why I ordered the Voyage so it's nice to hear this
