I have thick, coarse hair and really love the the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-in Conditioner. It is a spray, but it's slightly over $15 if it's not on sale (although it frequently is). I just checked and Ulta does have a travel size for only $5 that might be worth picking up to see how you like it before committing to a full size!
I use the B&B Hairdresser's Invisible Oil primer and I like it. I have the 8 oz., which I have been using for at least a year-and-a-half, and I'm a quarter of the way through out. So the 2 oz. for $12 should last you just fine! One caveat is that it's a spray but I wouldn't spray it directly on my hair--it's a bit thick for that.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
I feel like I have tried them all and seriously prefer it's a 10 miracle leave in spray. I hate the price and that I go through it so quickly though. Matrix also has two miracles sprays that I like and will grab when they are on sale, and I like the sample I just tried of living proofs restore perfecting spray.
These are the two matrix ones that I like a lot....

I think I will wait for a sale and try one of the matrix ones. I haven't tried It's a 10, I want to but it's so pricey! I will pick it up next time I have a 20% from Ulta.
I just mix together my favourite conditioner and water and spray that in. Works a charm. And is cheap. (I have fine curly hair)
That's genius. I didn't know you could do that!
What proportions?
And will just a regular spray bottle work or is it too thick?
I put a squirt (probably close to 1/2 teaspoon) in a small spray bottle with water (about 100ml). Give it a really good shake so it mixes in. It's not thick at all. I played around with it to figure out how much to use that worked with my hair. I use it to "wake up" my curly hair on days 2 and sometimes 3.

I love the It's a 10! and I'm not planning on using my 20% off code (good until 4/22) if you'd like it!SaveSave

That's so sweet of you! I actually bought it a few days before the coupon came out *kicks self*.
I do love it though so I'm already curating my Ulta haul and I've added another bottle, even though I've only used it like 4 times. It really is the best!
My favorite has been the regular It's a 10 but I mix other stuff like a couple of Aveda leave in creams. That's for when I blow dry and flat iron which is 99% of the time. I have very, very thick, coarse hair so my it can handle a lot of product.
One of my stylists recommended leaving a little conditioner if I am going to wear it curly. I have done the water plus conditioner method mrsukyankee, mentioned and it works great. I still have to put more products to control it since my hair is so thick and can get wild.

Sorry for the zombie thread, but I was about to post this same question and realized there was already a thread.
Any recs for straight, fine hair? Mine is almost waist length and it's always a mess of knots when I get out of the shower. I don't need heat protectant because I don't heat style. Just something that will detangle without weighing it down.

What about trying one designed for kids? The Honest Co Detangler is what I use for my daughter. It's super tangly in the mornings and this stuff helps so much. It keeps static at bay as well. It may be called a leave in conditioner. It's orange creamsicle scented as a bonus.

If you want cheap, then kids' products are the way to go. The Suave for Kids detangler works amazingly well on my kids.
I bought the eprouvage leave in last week during the ulta sale. I have used it twice now and I think I am in love. My hair has looked and felt amazing the last two days. It seriously trumps it's a 10 for me. The reason I bought it was because so many of the reviewers said the same thing. I regret not buying more than one now.
