I don't know if I did or not. DHs family was visiting that week, they live across the country and up till then they never visited us so I invited my parents, bro and SIL for a BBQ the day we were getting the ultrasound. A few days before DH was getting sparklers (it was near July 4th) And got a red firework and a blue firework. We set off the blue firework, everyone was all "yayyy" the end. No gifts, no games, only parents and one sibling.

Yeah this is the only way I'd do something like that. If people were already gathering for something else, and doing it in a super low key, non-AW way like bringing blue frosted cupcakes or something.

No, they weren't really a thing when the first two were born. I'm not a huge fan. I like cute fb photos or whatever but a whole elaborate reveal is a bit much for me.
Bil and sil tricked us all into a gender reveal thing when we were already all gathered for a Super Bowl party and that pissed me right off. Especially because it's their 5th kid, 2nd girl. Their oldest is a girl and they treat her like goddamned Cinderella. At the gender reveal when they found out this was a girl they actually uttered the words "we finally get a girl!!" You dumbasses already have a girl. I DIGRESS. They are obviously BEC w me. Ha.

No, so not my style.
I could't even be bothered to do a 1st birthday party. I figured this is the one year I can get away with not doing one, he'll know when he is older and I will have to.

We sort of did, I guess. It was just family, not a real party, and we had everyone over for dinner and had the colored cake. Since it was twins there were 3 options, so we had a 2 layer cake. The cake was really good. I'm always up for an excuse to have cake.
But I don't understand the strong hatred. I love parties and cake! To each their own, I suppose.
This is where's I'm at. I didn't have one. I was team green, but wouldn't have done one anyway since I had a shower and one event is enough for me. With that said, I don't get the hate. I love parties. If I don't want to go to one then I just decline, but otherwise yay cake and hopefully wine!

We found out a few days before DD1's birthday. So we found a box and put some pink balloons in it for her to open. It was a birthday party though, not a gender reveal party.
My BIL and his wife had two separate parties for their two kids. I don't mind going to the party, but don't ask everyone to bring food if you're "hosting." The second time they had people bring packs of diapers to be entered into a raffle with two prizes. Not a fan at all, but we complied, and each won the raffle! Mwahahahah!

:::Debbie Downer alert:::
We got bad news at our anatomy scan. We weren't planning a party regardless but that would have been awful. I actually get nervous for people who call the anatomy scan the "gender reveal" scan (or whatever variation) and are planning some big shindig around it. Or sometimes I just think, must be nice ...
