My cough that WILL NOT GO AWAY.
I have had a bad cough for about a week. I had a sore throat/sort of cold about two weeks ago and that is long gone and I honestly feel fine except for the fact I have an annoying cough. During the day it's not bad, but it is fucking awful at night. I have slept on the recliner for the past week because I can't sleep lying down.
I once had a client get my name COMPLETELY WRONG. When responding to an email that I had sent to him. I had sent him a detailed status update. My name is clearly in the "sent" line in his Outlook, and I signed it at the bottom. My signature block also shows up automatically. So my name is there three times. Say my name is Elise. He responds directly to this email with "Thanks, Emily." How the fuck did you manage that?

We leave for Disney in less than 3 weeks and my parents (who are funding and planning the trip) are dragging their feet on buying passes so we have no fast passes reserved. Never mind all the character meals are booked up (at least the breakfasts).

I get called the wrong name often in email. My name starts with a J. I get called Nicole. Nicole and my LAST name share the same 4 four letters, but the similarity ends there. I really don't understand. My first name isn't hidden in my signature or in the "from" field in our email system.
Oh man, I just remembered the time that I called someone by the wrong name, via email, several times. She finally corrected me and I felt like such a putz.
Her name was Yelena, and I called her Yolanda for like a month.

My MIL. She keeps bugging to me make some invite for a family reunion. She forgets that I have 4 freaking kids with busy schedules, and this last weekend was extra busy with 4 bday parties. I'm playing catch up today.
I just want to tell her poor planning on your part does not make it a drop everything and do for you on mine.
I've been waiting for her to give me the info for the invite and she finally gave it to me Saturday.

You mean besides everything and everyone? Lol
The local paper published an article about the organization I work for and basically made us look like idiots. So today was full of customers calling about the article.

Our admin, who we all know is a BEC with me by now, was trying to schedule a staff meeting for sometime in the next two weeks. We don't have regular staff meetings which my boss things maybe might be a good idea to help make sure we all have the same info (you think?). So I have offsite meetings with donors all day tomorrow and boss is out Thursday - Tuesday. She was bitching and bitching about how hard it was to schedule said meeting because "AK is going to be offsite tomorrow." Never mind that I will be offsite working and that boss is out 4 days. So I finally grabbed my phone and brought my calendar to her desk and said, "Let's see how we can make this work." It took all of 30 seconds for us to find a time that worked. Grrr.

OMFG - do you guys not use Outlook? Cuz Outlook has a little widget that tells you when all the invitees are free. It literally lists all the times/days right there for you.

berbles we do and I so don't understand the issue. I have even shared my calendar with her so she can look at my calendar directly. She doesn't seem to get the concept and does this any time she is scheduling a meeting.

Then why is she an admin!?!?
Sorry, she sounds terrible.
She definitely makes things more difficult than they need to be.
My grandfather is in a similar situation, except he has no money. She's the one with the money.
They've been together for about 12 years. She refuses to marry him because she doesn't want him to get any money if she dies. (FUCKED) Nevermind that she can get a prenup, whatever. Oh, and she also claims that she doesn't want to take care of him if he gets sick. Nevermind that he is EXTREMELY healthy for his age, meanwhile she's had cancer twice and has at least 3 artificial joints. He already takes care of her.
Her late H is the one who made all of the money - she lives on HALF of the interest his estate makes, and lives in a 2000 sq. ft. condo in one of the most expensive cities in the Bay Area. Now, they're both in their mid-80s, and both having memory issues. She calls my mom at least once a week to complain about his memory issues (which DO exist, but are pretty regular old-age issues; he does NOT have dementia); meanwhile, she's been unable to drive for several years and he drives her around everywhere, cooks for her, etc.
She wants to move into a nursing home, but REFUSES to pay for my grandfather and will not consider anything other than the posh Jewish nursing home in Palo Alto. She's been trying to shake my mom down for money to pay for Grampa to go to this place with her. My mom can't afford it.
So after 12+ years together, she's shoving my grandfather out the door. She was about to ship him off to a VA home in FRESNO (BFE and 3 hours from anyone he knows) before my mom intervened and offered to move him to Phoenix, where my parents just moved. Luckily, my mom knew his GF was going to pull this shit, so she insisted on finding a house that had a guest bed/bath for him. He was almost in tears when he realized he wasn't going to have to move alone to Fresno.
FUCK! I wrote this whole post before it reminded me I need to mail Grampa's birthday cards. He'll be 86 on Wednesday. <3

My lack of an interview at a place I put 4 unpaid years into (working directly for the person who is retiring). Then my annoyance was ratcheted up about 100 notches when I was told that I needed to keep giving my time for free (which isn't free when you're paying your sitter to be there) and basically just hope I get a job in the field one day. Newp. As much as I love what I've been doing, I love to pay my bills and feed my kids more.

Yesterday we told my SIL we would put in $10 for a raffle. Her and I work in the same school. She texted me about the money and she would of asked me in the hall for it. The money isn't due until May 1st and we are seeing her on Sunday. She could of put the $10 in and we would of gave it to her on Sunday. I do not carry my bag in the hall and would not of had it anyway. I alos got this text while I was dealing with a student refusing to go to class. She is annoying me!!!

MH is going through the same thing. I may smother him. LOL! Hope you feel better.
What are California common law laws?? Hmmm, you might check into that. Just in case. Evil partners are evil.
Nice thought. He would NEVER let us.
She's the worst.
When I got married the first time, the first thing out of her mouth was, "What's your budget?" And when I told her we didn't know because we'd been engaged for 4 minutes, and that all we know is that neither of us is comfortable spending more than $20k, she said, "Oh pshh, can't be done. Not in the Bay Area, can't be done." I shot her daggers and telepathically told her that unless she was offering to pay she needed to keep her bitch-ass mouth shut.

H is insisting we add a twin mattress on to our full mattress and has left it to me to plan this.
So I have to come up with: -a platform, which I've found -custom sheets, which I've found -an oversized king comforter, which I've found -a custom headboard, which I think I can make -a mattress connector, which I've found -a pillowtop topper, which I have no idea how to do.
He is so freaking excited about this (and really, so am I, because then he won't TOUCH ME or put his SWEATY HEAD ON MY PILLOW), but jesus this is going to be a lot of planning. He has also enthusiastically given me free rein of designing all the garden boxes and expecting plans.

One of my jobs at work is to notify our foreign payroll that foreign patent inventors are entitled to receive an award.
Without fail, every month, at least one of these guys emails me back and asks about their co-inventor who lives in the US.
Like, is it really that hard to figure out that the email is being sent to payroll and you are just cc'd? Pause. Take 15 seconds to think about why your one US co-inventor is not cc'd on this email before you reply-all and I have to embarrass you in front of your manager, who is also cc'd.

I ordered a t-shirt from one of those websites that only has them available for a limited time, then they print the designs once the order window has closed. It's the shirt with the cat in the pocket, that flips you off if you pull the edge of the pocket down. I got the shirt today, and it doesn't have a pocket, it's a goddam iron-on patch, so of course, there's nothing to pull down, and no cat flipping people off. I went back to the website, and couldn't find any info on my order, and the shirt isn't listed on the website any more so I can't check the description. It's so fucking lame, now I'm trying to find the invoice so I can contact them to tell them what kind of bullshit this is. At the very least, I'm going to post on Facebook and Twitter and see if I can get my money back. The shirt should look like this:
XH. This is the text he sent me this afternoon. I was tempted to text back "Seriously???". But I let it be. For real though... it's freakin underwear. $8 a pack underwear.

That I have to pay $745 for the appraisal for the new house. I wasnt expecting that expense and it sure would have been nice to know a couple of weeks ago so I could plan for it.
