Not sure if you all have heard of him, but he's a Christian obgyn who stopped his OB practice to provide abortions in the south.
He has a new book out this week. I'm going to try to read it on my trip.
He's actually speaking here tonight for free, but I have French class and I'm missing class next week so I don't think I'm going to go But he is going to be here for an awards ceremony in May so I hope I can go to that.
I had some reservations about becoming an abortion provider based on safety threats, but I've quickly gotten over that and am excited for my career and that there are people that have paved the way for me.

I looked up the book. It looks interesting. The description on amazon says that he was inspired by MLK Jr's take on the Good Samaritan story, so I looked that up and found this: On the parable of the Good Samaritan: "I imagine that the first question the priest and Levite asked was: 'If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?' But by the very nature of his concern, the good Samaritan reversed the question: 'If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?
Also, listening to MLK give me chills. I'm going to get this book. Thank you.

I have mad respect for healthcare workers that provide abortions. I no longer work in a hospital setting, but I used to be an OR nurse on the gyn team partly because I was willing to help with elective abortions. Health care decisions should be between a patient and their team- everyone else needs to stay out of it.

I have so much respect and admiration for abortion providers. Luckily, there has not been the same assault on abortion rights in Canada as in the US, but they are still not easy for every woman who wants one to access.
