I'm finishing up the 2nd in the BDB Legacy series. I kind of wish I didn't pick it up. Boring, predictable and way too much time spent on other characters.
I'm listening to #8 in the Charley Davidson series. I'm really enjoying them, but I'm starting to get burned out and I might take a break. I read 3-8 in a row.
QOTW:
Cadbury Creme Eggs- Meh Peeps- No Reese's Eggs - Yes White Chocolate Bunnies - No Jelly Beans- No Chocolate Coins- Waste of chocolate
But ALL THE CADBURY MINI EGGS. (This can't be stressed enough)
American War by Omar El Akkad. It's set in 2070-ish in a seceded southern state. It's a little slow going for me but I'm enjoying it. The explanations of how the country got to this point are sort of developing throughout the story, so the world isn't completely clear but in a purposeful way.
QOTW: Cadbury Creme Eggs: yes, but just one please Peeps: yes Reese's Eggs: of course! White Chocolate Bunnies: nah Jelly Beans: certain kinds Chocolate Coins: I'm not picky about chocolate but these are not usually good chocolate, even for me.
I am still reading We Were the Lucky Ones. The book is dragging a little. I don't know if it is due more to my busy schedule right now or the book. I'm just not getting into it like I thought I would.
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies?
Cadbury Creme Eggs-- No, my mom and best friend love these. 🤢
Peeps--No, but my kids like them
Reese's Eggs-- I used to love these, but if I tried one today I'm guessing it would be too sweet. I don't eat much candy besides dark chocolate any more.
White Chocolate Bunnies-- No, I hate white chocolate
Jelly Beans -- No, I have never really liked jelly beans.
Chocolate Coins-- Not unless they are European chocolate not the bags of "chocolate" coins usually found in grocery stores around here.

I started "The Anaisi (SP?) Boys) by Neil Gaiman. So far so good, it's my first NG book. Just looking for some time to read sit and read.

This week I finished Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. Both were excellent. I just started Gulag Voices by Anne Applebaum.
Cadbury: yes Peeps: no Reece's: YES White chocolate: hard no Jelly beans: yes Chocolate coins: depends on if it's good chocolate or crappy chocolate

I'm nearly finished listening to Wild, and I'm about a quarter of the way through The Chemist. It's due back tomorrow (e-book) and I'm not going to finish it but I'm not all that sad. I already figured out the "twist," because Stephanie Meyer is SO very predictable. I've got it on hold again, but I'm not all that worried about forgetting anything because she's also repetitive. ;-)
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies? Cadbury Creme Eggs: Heck yes Peeps: bleh. No. Reese's Eggs: Heck es White Chocolate Bunnies: Heck yes Jelly Beans: Meh. Only if they're Jelly Bellies and only certain flavors Chocolate Coins: Are these an Easter thing? The only chocolate coins I've ever seen are made from "chocolate flavored candy," which is a waste of money in my opinion.
Well, I did put We Two on hold (we'll see if I finish it) and started All By Myself Alone by Mary Higgins Clark. I am halfway through and I like it. I did not enjoy her last book, so I am happy this is more of what I was expecting.
Yes or No to these Easter Candies?
Cadbury Creme Eggs no Peeps no Reese's Eggs yes White Chocolate Bunnies maybe Jelly Beans starburst flavored one = yes, others = no Chocolate Coins not unless they were made with quality chocolate
To the PP who said Cadbury mini eggs yes, absolutely yes
Read last week A Conjuring of Light (#3 in series) by V.E. Schwab - fantasy; 3 stars; It felt a bit dragged out at times. Good ending to the triology, but not exceptional. Seven Minutes in Heaven by Eloisa James - historical romance; 2.5 stars; There just wasn't much drama to this at all, kind of boring really
Currently reading Shield of Thunder (#2 in series) by David Gemmel - historical fiction; the main characters from the previous book finally showed up! Liking this even more now! Taking Turns by J.A. Huss - romance; surprisingly not cheesy given how smutty this book is, though I am not sure I understand all the 'rules'
QOTW Snickers easter eggs are the only thing I care about, you can keep everything else!

I started Sisters One, Two, Three earlier this week and hope to make some headway this weekend - I keep falling asleep before I can get into it. I am listening to Just Mercy and even on disc 1 of 9 can tell it is going to be a powerful eye opening book.
QOTW I'm only here for the Starburst Jelly beans.... so tasty!
I'm also rereading ACOTAR and ACOMAF. Gahh can't wait!
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies? Cadbury Creme Eggs - no Peeps - yes as a kid, not anymore Reese's Eggs - i think i've eaten my weight in these, i should stock up before they are gone even though they are 170 cals a pop and I eat like 4 in 1 sitting White Chocolate Bunnies - no Jelly Beans - no Chocolate Coins - no
Except for the white chocolate and the peeps, I am good with all of the candy listed. Bodies like mine don't happen overnight, you know. Lol ... round is a shape.

Currently reading:
The Most Dangerous Place on Earth - I am about 85% complete and really drawn in. It is about Middle school and high school students in an upper-class area, and I can really relate. I teach in a very similar setting and it is just so sad to see how horrible kids are towards each other. This book really has my attention! The Bookshop on the Corner - just started this, too early to say
While in Boulder this week (Loved it there!) I bought a Tana French book, The Likeness, which I hope to begin soon too
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies?
Cadbury Creme Eggs YES Peeps YES (But only one, after that I get blah) Reese's Eggs HELL YES White Chocolate Bunnies Yup Jelly Beans YES (just not black) Chocolate Coins Yes
I tried picking up The Art of War again, but I realized it was annoying me because there is too much analysis/interjection in the copy I'm reading, so I put it back down. Still working on Mistress of the Vatican: The True Story of Olimpia Maidalchini: The Secret Female Pope, and once I got past the intro it hasn't been so bad, but the chapters are stupid long, which is a pet peeve of mine. I also picked up The Underground Railroad, which I'm about halfway through - the writing is excellent, but it's not what I was expecting; I thought it was going to be more sci-fi, so I rather misinterpreted the synopsis.
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies? Cadbury Creme Eggs - hell YES! Peeps - nonononoNO! Reese's Eggs - YES! White Chocolate Bunnies - maybe, I don't know if I've ever encountered a white chocolate bunny. Jelly Beans - yes, if they are Jelly Belly, Starburst, or the Brach's licorice kind, no to all other kinds. Chocolate Coins - no
I'm reading the Romanov Sisters, albeit at a Snails pace, as I'm only reading before bed and falling asleep after 1-3 pages.
QOTW: Maybe Cadbury Creme Eggs No Peeps Maybe Reese's Eggs No White Chocolate Bunnies Yes Jelly Beans Yes Chocolate Coins
What is everyone's opinion on Robins Eggs (candy shell with malted milk center, colors of shell are often bright pink, blue, white or yellow and turn your toungue that color. I love them but I know a few people who don't.

I like them in small doses. I'm good with a handful a year.

I just finished The Passage and I'm still working through what I thought of it. I'm going to start Hard Eight next because I need something quick and light.
What is everyone's opinion on Robins Eggs (candy shell with malted milk center, colors of shell are often bright pink, blue, white or yellow and turn your toungue that color. I love them but I know a few people who don't.
They are my DHs favorite. I usually buy him a bag and eat a few, but return to other candy.
Since checking in last (I think...), I've read Pretty Girls, Wild and The Memory of Us. I enjoyed all of them- Wild was probably my least favorite of the 3 that I've read this month. Cheryl Strayed annoys me.
Currently reading: A Man Called Ove. I'm only about 50 pages in, so far it is ok.
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies? Cadbury Creme Eggs: Yep. But, I prefer the caramel ones. Peeps: Yep. Slightly stale is best! Reese's Eggs: Yes, yes, Yes White Chocolate Bunnies: Absolutely not. Disgusting. Jelly Beans: Only sour ones Chocolate Coins: No thanks.
I read Swing Time by Zadie Smith and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie this week. They're totally different, but I enjoyed them both and especially liked the perseverance and optimism of the main character in the latter. I am about three pages into A Court of Thorns and Roses, and am trusting the internet that I will like it.
I like the smaller Reese eggs, with the more pleasing ratio of peanut butter to chocolate (I feel like there's too much peanut butter in the regular size). I also like non-spicy jelly beans. Peeps aren't really my thing and chocolate coins usually seem to be made of cheaper chocolate, so I don't bother.

I finished Sidney Chambers and the Forgiveness of Sins and immediately popped it in the mail to my Dad. Then I started A Gilded Grave, a Gilded Age mystery set in Newport. It's interesting so far and since I've visited to Newport, it's easier for me to envision the scenes at the "cottages" and along the Cliff Walk.
QOTW: Yes or No to these Easter Candies? Cadbury Creme Eggs -- No Peeps -- Absolutely Reese's Eggs -- only if there's nothing else White Chocolate Bunnies -- yes, but only a little bit of it at a time Jelly Beans -- no Chocolate Coins -- no
I honestly didn't think about the Cadbury Mini Eggs, but I don't really like them. I don't really like Cadbury's chocolate -- though in the US it's different than it is here in Australia, which is different from the UK Cadbury.
I love Robin's Eggs! Malted Milk Balls are some of my favorite candies anyway and I always bought several bags of Robin's Eggs at Easter.
And I really liked the Sweetart Bunnies, Chicks & Duckies, but I hear they have changed them and they are not as good anymore. I can't say from personal experience, the only Easter candy I get is Chocolate bunnies/bilbies and marzipan candies. I really miss the variety of Easter candy in the US.

I'm trying to hustle to get The Romanov sisters finished before the discussion. I was so awesome at reading Jan-Mar months ahead of schedule. Then I went back to work part time, lol. I try to read a chapter while pumping when I get home from work/before bed but lately I just zone out playing on my phone.
