I know I'm a broken record but I'm working on the house today. Because DD got her vaccines yesterday she is extra tired today which has helped me be more productive today.
We are meeting with our real estate agent tonight and signing the contract to list it. We are so close to being done and there is absolutely nothing on the market in the price range of our home so he recommends listing it this weekend, even if we haven't done the tidying up of the front yard by then. So I am in a mad dash to get everything done asap. Lol
DS got sent home from daycare today due to stomach issues. DH picked him up and took him to the children's ER. Ummmm...overreacting much? Oh well, he's in charge this week since I'm on the road. (DS is fine!)
Heading out to dinner with coworkers here shortly. Meetings this week have been good so far. Hoping to get a workout in later tonight.
ewall- my DH is the complete opposite. I think our kids would have to be near death to take them to a doctor. He is so anti medicine...he has gone to the doctor once in our 8+ years together (unless you count his fall off the roof)
Busy day here! Had the asbestos testing done this morning and talked to the insurance adjuster. Spent 4 hours at Disneyland with my HS BFF, her kiddos, and her mom! So much fun! Home now and L is napping!
Tomorrow will be equally busy...project manager coming 9-11, adjuster at 10, and plumber 1-4 arrival for a 3-4 hour job. I am nauseous just thinking of how I will manage both kids and all of this tomorrow by myself (DH can't leave work and my parents are OOT). Oh well...just hope it's fixed soon.
I never did update but we have a hot slab leak from the water heater. We have our water turned off and are basically living like campers right now. DH does take a shower in the morning because he has to for work but we had a huge puddle and streaming water in our garage yesterday when we had the water on. DH wants to re pipe the whole house...it's a good 1-2 week project where we couldn't live here with the boys and it's also $10k. But all of our neighbors are having the same issues so it's only a matter of time before we go through this again (and likely more damage done to personal property).
I learned recently that gun raffles are a thing around here. Like, you buy a ticket and win a gun. Huh? I mean, does any random person just walk in and buy a ticket? This is a very strange concept to me!
luv2rn4fun- i hate water issues. We redid the pipes in our entire house because of having 6 leaks in the first 2-3 years owning the house. We did sections of it at a time though. We did each area based on what area of the house we were doing renos in.
We just signed our real estate contract. 😳 it's all so real now.

Yay!! Wishing you the best of luck! I hope it goes quickly and smoothly! I have sold two properties and had completely opposite experiences...sounds like you have a good market/demand so hopefully it won't be too stressful for you guys! You guys are still with your ILs for another 8 months or so?
estrellita Does your state not have background checks? I can't believe that is a thing either! So weird.
luv2rn4fun That sounds dreadful to be out of a home for a few weeks, but maybe you could take a family vacation during it? (although, probably hard to afford a vacation with an expensive repair ) Best of luck deciding what to do.
ewall Oh wow! The thought of the ER would have never occurred to me. That said, I'd rather a spouse over react than under, especially if I was out of town. At least then no worries. Other than the bill. lol.

amaranth I have no idea to be honest! I know next to nothing about guns, lol. You'd think we would being a more liberal leaning state but the area I'm in now is very very conservative. Which is probably why I've never heard of this, I grew up in the big scary cities (not trying to make fun but really a lot of people around here are scared of going to "the cities"). I also never heard of meat raffles until a few years ago but that seems much more harmless, lol.

Yes, this is a more rural area (at least to me, it's one biggish city, a few "suburbs", then pretty rural for quite a while). One of the raffles is being done by a snowmobile club and I'm not sure about the other. I overheard coworkers talking about it and had to start listening to see if I heard right, lol.

Oh yeah, the "city" is considered dark and dangerous. Never mind that the city is only 50,000 people.
estrellita - When a business sells or transfers a firearm, they are required to do a NICX check (federal background check). In the event of a raffle, before the prize is awarded the winner would go through the same background check process as any other customer. If the winner failed the checks, they would forfeit the prize.

amaranth- no way could we go on vacation, especially not for 1-2 weeks. DH doesn't have the ability to take time off work as we are literally spending money we have but didn't want to use for this (we wanted to and need to get new windows for efficiency reasons and still want to do the kitchen years down the line). We just started accounting for C to go to preschool and that literally kills our monthly budget. As it is, we have a $1k deductible so this current repair is going to hit us pretty good. A vacation sounds great and exhausting all at the same time...but better than the alternative. We will likely stay at my parents if we decide to do this.

Knowing this area, it wouldn't shock me one bit if they didn't do this. I sure hope they do though!

That's funny because the city I work in is like 65k or so, about the same as my hometown (which was surrounded by cities around the same size, give or take depending which way you were going). The city we live in is about 2500. The main city here doesn't bother them much (except for the "bad areas" aka where Somali people live.. this area is sadly pretty racist). Only one person from my work came down to my wedding, which was in the biggest city in the state, about an hour and a half drive. To be fair, it's overwhelming to drive in that area when you're not used to it but I never let that stop me from doing things!
luv2rn4fun- I start work November 8th. So the plan is to be down there for Oct 1ish. We are hoping to buy so we will start looking at the end of July. (So if it's a 90 day close we can still get settled in time.)
