We're tiring of the Fiestaware I bought in college. I've always lusted after Villeroy and Boch dinnerware, but my H hates it and it's pretty expensive to boot. Can I see your everyday (dishwasher-safe!) dinnerware?

Ours is Lenox Simply Fine Chirp www.amazon.com/dp/B0012J0YEK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZMuazbMGJ6AQZ We use it every day and I love eating on "real" dishes. It's held up well even with two kids and I love the fun pattern. It's oven safe and when a plate cracked in the oven Lenox sent me a new one for free. I have inherited fine china as well that gets pulled out for dinner parties or holidays.

We have a Villeroy & Boch set. Going on 8 years in June, daily use, have moved 5 times and are almost always washed in the dishwasher. They look the same as the day we got them and I'm still enjoying them!
I think Macy's has sales that include V&B. That's how we completed our set after seeing what we received as wedding gifts. At this point I think it was worth the money, so if you can find a pattern both you and your H enjoy I'd say go for it!

Lenox and I think it's boring. Also the one dove posted, but once again I'm not a fan. Everything I've read suggests this is the type of China you should have for daily dining.
I'm not into simple and elegant. Honestly, I like ornate.
I know quite a few people love fiestaware, but I'm not a fan.
I think when I buy new plates it'd be a combo of Wedgwood and Waterford blues. Keep in mind I like higher end, not suggesting this combo is that for everyone, and not subtle.
We registered for the Everyday White collection at BB&B and it's still going strong. They still sell it so it's easy for us to add more pieces if we want to.

I just bought a set of Corelle Winter Frost and I seriously love it. It came with these soup bowls that are shallow (too shallow for soup) and I had no idea what we would use them for but they are my favorite piece from the set. I have used the platters in my corelle set more in the two weeks I have had it than I did in my old set I had for 10 years.
Also my kid dropped the dessert plate on our wood floor and instead of being all 'OMG what did you dooo?!? Did it break?! Are you cut!?' I said 'no big deal just be more careful next time'.

We have Emile Henry because at the time (10 or so years ago) I was looking for green dishes to match the little knife rests we had bought in Provence . I looked all kinds of place and didn't find the right color anywhere and then ran into the right color while we were visiting Aspen. So I took down the info and bought all kinds of stuff online. It's very good quality but not fancy and good for everyday use
We have the Essential line from C&B. I chose it specifically because I wanted something that they would have long-term, that would be easy to replace when we broke a plate or bowl, and that I didn't feel the need to be protective of. We've had these dishes for about 6 years and they've held up great. And, true to form, we've been able to easily replace a couple of pieces after dropping them and what not. Super inexpensive.
I have a plain white set that we got for our wedding. I love having plain white dishes because I like the way food looks on them, I can easily add colored serving dishes/holiday crap, and I can buy extra white serving pieces from almost anywhere and they look great. The only problem is that the dinner plates are HUGE. They haven't even fit in most of our cabinets & don't fit in the dishwasher well. Two things I didn't think about when I was living in a crappy apartment in grad school & using hand-me-down dishes!
I got tired of only using the luncheon plates, so I bought Square black & white Corelle dishes. 7 years and not a single piece has chipped or broken, and I love that they're really light! My other dishes can only be put into the cabinet about 2-3 at a time!
We have this set (antique white from mikasa). we've had it for almost 10 years and it's held up really well. I've only recently started noticing little knife scratches on the bottoms of the plates.
We've also noticed that a lot of fictional families use this as their casual dining ware, most notably the underwoods on House of Cards. So it's neat to have famous dishes.

Pottery Barn Sausalito. Got them for my wedding almost 11 years ago and they've held up well despite 3 kids and 8 moves. Unfortunately this style has been discontinued, but I would definitely get PB again because they've held up really well. We ended up selling the "dinner" plates because they were more like serving platter sized and we've always used the "lunch" plates for dinner as a result.
Corelle forever. I do want to finish replacing the very casual pattern I've had since college with winter frost white plus maybe some Cherish or Bella Faenza serving pieces.
