Good morning, Everyone. We have an 8.5 week old puppy that we are trying to house train. It's been going well with very few accidents (a few tinkles inside but no poops). However, yesterday we had pouring rain in the region, and the pup decided he absolutely hated it, hated going potty in it, refused to even put a toe outside the doorstep. So we carried him out, holding an umbrella, and he peed and yanked at the leash to dart back inside. This happened several times throughout the evening. Suddenly without the usual 'sniffing around' warning, he dropped his hind-end and starts to poop in the kitchen. My husband caught him and hustled outside (into the pouring rain) where the pup finished his business. He had just been outside for a pee maybe 15 minutes prior.
Does anyone have any tips and/or advice on getting a pup to potty outside when it's raining without so much struggle? He's a vizsla about 10.5 pounds and in good health.
We have a dog that hates the rain, too. It was worse when she was very young. I want to say it started to improve around a year? Have you considered dog booties? I know it feels ridiculous putting shoes on a dog, but my dog is less reluctant to walk on wet grass with her boots on.

My oldest dog hates the rain and the mulch when it is wet - his usual poop spot.
He’ll pee on the concrete in the rain and has learned to go fast because he knows that HURRY means we’ll go back inside faster.
As for pooping in the rain, we walk until he does his business. Usually also doesn’t take too long.
My puppy took more work. We had to leash train her to go in the rain. And keep a strict time to go schedule even though it was a pain for us too. It’s what stopped the poop in the house rain or shine.
