Has anyone done it? Is it fun and worth it? It's coming to Denver this summer, and I'm thinking of taking the kids. H loves trains but mainly watches Chuggington instead of Thomas. I still think he could love it if it caters to younger kids (he will be almost 2).
Thomas comes 4 times a year but we have never went. It is way too crowded and riding other trains is fine with them. I prefer going on non packed days.
We did it at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden two years ago. We had a great time!
Pros: --lots of activity tents
--Really well organized
--Plenty of trains to climb on while you are waiting to ride Thomas
--Complimentary shuttle bus to take you to and from the satellite parking lots.
Not cons really, just be aware--
--it's expensive
--tickets are timed, so pick ones that fit with your schedule
--mornings are crowded
--it's hot and dusty. Bring water and sunscreen
--there's a huge tent at the exit filled with every kind of Thomas merch you can imagine, and some gets pricy.
Alex had an amazing time, and we'll probably do it for Henry this year 😁 The kids that are the most into it seem to be 3-5, but there are plenty of 2 and unders there too.
nannerl Do you think it will be too hot this year? Not sure what time of year it was when you went, but I was looking at the July 8th weekend dates, and I'm afraid it's going to be super hot. I didn't know they did it yearly! A has never loved trains enough for me to look up going but now that H loves them she likes them more too lol.
@lindy we went in mid September. July seems really early! Have you been to the railroad museum before? Big open dirt and gravel area, so lots of sun. Maybe look at the earlier tickets? Either way, pack lots of water and sun protection 👍

Massachusetts actually has a year round Thomas Land now. It's in southern Mass and in the grounds of an old train yard. Ari loved it! CT people should go there!
We're going may 20th! I just signed up a couple weeks ago. I'm excited and think the boys will love it. I don't know when yours is, but I'll let you know how they like it in a couple weeks

It was really fun! There's tons of kiddie rides that was age appropriate for them.

Ari went with my inlaws last yeat and had a blast. He still talks about it frequently.
It is stupidly expensive BUT right now dinoland is closed so it is cheaper than it typically is.
