Is anyone doing anything? It wasn't mentioned at his school but I will get them something, they've been really wonderful.
Teachers, other than a personalized note (I suck at things like that) what are your favourite things to get? I'm doing a gift card (place undecided) but I'd like to give something with it.

At preschool everyone gave $20 and it's being divided up into little things each day. Breakfast, lunch, gift certificate to a nail salon, wine, etc. I plan on doing something big at the end of the year when we leave since we've been there since 2010.
Some parents are organizing food for each day... so you could either sign up to bring something or give some $. I gave some $ for that. They are also doing prize giveaways on Wednesday, so I gave a few gift cards to Target for that.

Another mother and I brought a platter of pastries to the whole lower school teachers' lounge this morning. I will probably bring them specialty coffee on Wednesday. I was thinking about a GC for his two main teachers on Friday, but haven't decided yet. They will all get wine or champagne at the end of the year.
Daycare had week of the young child last week. I'm not planning on doing anything yet for daycare.
Kalvin's elementary school has teacher appreciation week this week. We did planters for his teachers and paraprofessionals. I currently have 9 planters in my car and will deliver today when I pick him up early. He picked the flowers and the planters. His main teachers (his multiage teacher and his AS teacher), at the end of school year, will be getting a gift card to the state store and I will be getting the multiage teacher her Teacher's time out wine glass. Sorry my kid makes you drink!

Nothing was mentioned at Ruby's school and when I asked some other moms they acted like they were not doing anything. I am a teacher myself so I am doing gifts and I sometimes go overboard. I just know as a teacher that I always appreciate any thing the parents do. Ruby has 2 teachers, one is an assistant but I give the same gifts.
Monday- I made up a gift of pink hand soap, lotion, and body wash with a tag that says; "I am tickled pink you are my teacher" Tuesday- I bought thank you cards for Ruby to sign and I will include a nice note. Wednesday- Flowers Thursday- I have a paper for Ruby to fill out listing things about her teacher and a space to draw a picture. I may get a cheap frame to frame it. Friday- Not sure yet but probably some kind of gift card.
As a teacher myself I appreciate anything I get but gifts I have really enjoyed are gift cards to local stores and restaurants, Redbox rental codes with candy, lotions, I don't even mind the occasional coffee mug if its cute. Hand written notes from the parents or kids are nice too and I save those to look at when I have a rough day or wonder if I am making a difference.
Ok what if I brought a box of donuts and some bottled Starbucks frappucino drinks? She has 3 teachers so I could get 6 donuts and 6 drinks if varying flavor and then they would each get 2. Is that good enough? Then I'll do the Amazon cards for end of the year.
This sounds awesome. As a teacher I would be more than happy with donuts and drinks! I saw a cute tag on pinterest that says, "I donut what we would do with you".
My favorite thing for teacher appreciation week is getting lunch delivered. My room moms coordinate and bring it each day and it's such a treat! Gift cards are the best gift. My room moms made this poster that is hanging outside our classroom. I love my curves!
I noticed on their menu calendar yesterday that his school is calling today "teachers day" so I just got them $25 Starbucks gift cards each, I put it in one of those reusable $2 cups that look like their paper cup. I added a few Hershey's kisses in the bottom because I had a bag at the house. I attached tag that said "thanks a latte for being a great teacher" that I printed from this site justagirlandherblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Thanks-a-Latte.pdf
Ours is this week. They sent home a flier. We were supposed to bring a flower on Monday, a thank you note on Tuesday, school supplies on Wednesday and Thursday, and a piece of fruit on friday. DS made heart notes out of construction paper and wrote a thank you note all by himself. It was really sweet and I'm overly proud of him.
