The Writers Guild reached an agreement! My husband isn't unemployed! Woo hoo!
Well, he is, kind of. He's on the last episode of the season right now. But, he'll just find a new show/movie until they start up with Season 3 in the fall. If the WGA went on strike, the industry would be shut down. The most recent strike went on for 14 weeks, and the longest on record went on for almost 22 weeks. No writers means no production. We would have been SCREWED. I am SO relieved this morning!!
L is supposed to have a pool birthday party Saturday but the high is 68. I'm panicking that no kids will come or it will be freezing or boring. I was going to rent a bounce house but then Dh put all these terrible ideas in my head that someone will get hurt and sue us. There is a playground but it isn't very big. Please pray for heat on Saturday 😂 lol
We opened restaurant #3 last night. I'm not sure how much longer I can do it. I'm running 3 restaurants with 2 employees that screw things up on an almost daily basis. I got shit for taking today off, it's my first full day off in over 2 weeks. It also means that I'm screwing myself for the rest of the week because I need a break. I haven't taken more than 3 days off in almost 3 years. No raises, no bonuses, not even getting paid for vacation time I didn't take, which I was promised. I love my profession but am starting to hate my job. PDQ I've already had 2 mimosas 😐
This is the latest dress I'm adding to my shop. Elizabeth is wearing it at a playspace today and it's going over like gangbusters. People keep asking where I got it and the lady who runs the place (who I know pretty well since we're here once or twice a week) has offered to do a pop up shop once I open up my Etsy shop. Plus the story time lady, who is basically a celebrity in the Chicago mom world, took a selfie with elizabeth for her FB page because she loved the dress so much. I still have no idea how much I'm going to charge for it or anything, but I'm getting excited!
A's party is Saturday. I've only heard back from half the kids invited. I'm hoping if they don't rsvp I can assume they aren't coming right? I need to tell them to bring another gymnastics instructor if all the kids come, but I don't want to pay for it if they aren't all coming! Just rsvp people.

Wes applied for assistant manager again. His interview was Thursday and they said he would know early this week. Fingers crossed he gets the answer today and that he got it! I'm still uneasy about no longer being able to work. His new shift would make me unable to work the opposite shift hours anymore and daycare would eat my paycheck. Wes so deserves this promotion and is so good at his job, the kids and I can adjust.

I want it!!! Also, could you do a romper pattern? I'd buy both:)

Probably! I've never made it as a romper, but I'm sure I could
I know you guys are probably sick of my bitching but I haven't heard back from my email I sent yesterday. I sent it atound 4:30pm, my last interview was on Friday. Are they trying to torture me?? I know they could be busy, the person I communicate most with travels a ton. But still. Throw me a frickin bone!
rjamz, super cute! Have you found a good place to order knits from? Also what kind of stitch do you use to finish the bottom edge? I've made one knit dress so far, and I used a stretch zig zag stitch at the bottom and didn't love how it looked.

I order a lot of custom prints from spoonflower.com. It's $26 a yard, but I love them so much. And I can usually get a dress out of a yard. I also really like Riley Blake knits, which I get from fabric.com - they make cute unicorn and heart prints. Also check out etsy!
I have a serger and use that on the bottom. Sometimes I do a rolled hem with it. Otherwise I serge the edge and then turn it up and hem it with a regular stitch using a ballpoint needle.
@lindy I also got this girl superhero print from spoonflower which is my all time favorite because it's impossible to find girl superheroes in knit or that aren't pink. I've made this dress for elizabeth in a couple of sizes already and for a friend's twin girls and they wear their dresses all the time
