What are you training for? Date? Getting back in shape. Even if that shape is round. I'm thinking maybe of doing an easy 4-miler in July. We'll see how getting back on the horse goes.
Training plan for the week? Swim Friday. First one since ... October, maybe?
Any issues or vents? I can't find my favorite swimsuit. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it somewhere, but I have no idea where it went. Also not sure where my good goggles are.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Nothing H&F, but R has some job offers in the works and I have a house in escrow. So that's exciting!!

What are you training for? Date?Springs Back Tri (Sprint), 5/7; Lake Pflugerville Tri (Oly), 6/18
Training plan for the week? I'm on the bench this week.
Any issues or vents? Saturday night, H crashed the ATV we were driving into a tree. I'm nursing 3 stitches in my knee and the associated swelling from the impact. Thank God and everything that we were wearing seat belts, because I most assuredly would have been thrown directly into said tree.
Even if I'm able to get the stitches out on Friday, I'm not sure I'll be in any shape to tri on Sunday. I'm having many feelings about this, as it was supposed to be my dress rehearsal for my A race next month.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Vacation was lovely and relaxing, until it wasn't.
What are you training for? Date? VA Wine Country Half Marathon 6/3, Montclair Sprint Tri 6/18
Training plan for the week? Mon - 60 min run, Tues - 2000yd swim/strength, ICELAND for the next 9 days: run 3-4 times between 3-6 miles, lots of hiking, maybe a little body weight strength exercises
Any issues or vents? Early summer weather made for some really rough runs over the weekend and my calves have been really tight.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I wrapped up my Racing Weight quick start today and I lost 10 lbs in the last 5 weeks. That was way more than I expected! I feel good with where I'm at and ready to up my calories and just maintain now.
I did two rides with clipless pedals. There were some falls. All of them were when I had unclipped one foot and had it on the ground, but lost my balance. Nothing major and I'm excited to keep improving and go for more rides when I get back to Iceland.

What are you training for? Date? Ragnar Cape Cod, 5/12-5/13
Training plan for the week?
I don't even really know.
Tues - Should have been a 35 minute run, but my IT band/ knee/ calf/ shin hurt so much I couldn't make it a mile on the treadmill Wed - Strength training Thurs - Hopefully a somewhat decent 35 minute run. Fri - Rest, possibly strength training.
Any issues or vents? I had thought to myself that my IT band hadn't been bothering me at all this training cycle. Then, I get out of the car at the Y, and my whole right leg hurt. I tried to keep at it, because my shins are usually a little tight the first mile, but I quit after .75. I stretched and foam rolled and I'm wearing a compression sleeve on my calf. I really hope I can pull it together.
I haven't gotten enough long runs or double runs in, just because we've been so busy on weekends. I registered for a local 5k on Sunday so I'll try to run again that afternoon at some point.
I'm also blaming my Ragnar teammates on the $250 we dropped in Costco because I wanted to run in for a box of Annie's fruit snacks. secretlyevil @vtcupcake taratruSallyJwawa
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I tried a new running route on Saturday, which was lovely. There's a 10 mile trail that links a bunch of local state and city parks. I started in 2 really hilly ones, which wasn't fun, especially with the humidity, but I kept plugging away and got a little over 5 miles in. I'm looking forward to exploring that a little more.

Highlights or AW's from the past week? Lots this week! Highlight by far was the Seneca7 relay- the whole day, but especially the end where we cross the finish line as a team because that's so rare in a sporting event. Also noticed the benefit of HR training and slower training paces- I was pleasantly surprised at my race paces, been a while since I raced. And thank you right knee and left hammy for holding it together lately - keep it going please....
What are you training for? Date? Eugene marathon THIS SUNDAY!!! (then a 50K in 3 weeks and a 50 mile in 3 months)
Training plan for the week? I have a trail race tomorrow night... yeah, 4 days before a marathon. I will not be racing it, just running for fun. Then some other easy runs.
Any issues or vents? I peaked at 43 miles. I feel like that is absurdly low. I have just been so slammed with work (advising 2 clubs, plus teaching full time), 2 classes for my masters, moving into our new house, parenting... running kind of took a back seat.

Training plan for the week? - Mon Rest - Tues: 25 mile ride, 45 min run - Not sure the rest of the week, because Training Peaks is being stupid and not letting me see what my coach has loaded for me. I told him to kick my ass though, so...
Any issues or vents? - Training peaks is being dumb. My stomach has been a mess lately and I can't figure out why.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? - The semester is over!! No more teaching until August!

Highlights or AW's from the past week? I got in 2 runs with my friends and got all of them fitted for running shoes! I'm so excited they are getting into running. Oh and I start triathlon training this week.

Any issues or vents? How bad of an omen is it to blow off runs during week 2 of marathon training? I have a dress rehearsals all week, so a lot of late nights at work = decreased desire to get up and run. And no, I am not running when I get done at 11 pm.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I am running faster when I run with a group. This is good.
I am excited for the trail half I'm doing, and I feel like I have officially let go of expectations. between sickness and working late, I am going to set the bar LOW for something that is an automatic PR anyway.

Any issues or vents? Working through some pre-race jitters. Also someone yesterday asked me if I'm pregnant. So that was fun.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? This is the first time I've followed a training plan as closely as I've followed a training plan. I can't say 100%, b/c I missed one run and cut another run or two short. Also - it feels so good to be running regularly again. I'm so happy.

What are you training for? Date? Nothing! If all goes as planned, my next race will be a half marathon in September.

M: yoga class (morning), strength class (afternoon) T: 6 mile run W: strength class (morning), yoga class (afternoon - if I have time) Th: 6-7 mile run, depending on time F: 5 mile easy/slow run Sat: long run, length tbd Sun: 1-mile "race" with my son (we'll be running slowly)
Any issues or vents? I've having a very hard time losing the weight I put on over the last year. Also, every now and then the top of my foot gets sore/achy in the area where I had my stress fracture last year. It worries me.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I survived a stressful/busy couple of weeks of work. More is coming.

Any issues or vents? My IT band is a fucking bitch. I mean, I know that my hips aren't as strong as they need to be and that I'm the one not working them, but come ON. Loosen up!
