Jack kicked my ass in UNO three times last night. I told him to expect a rematch when I get home from work tonight. If he is asleep, I'm waking him up. Lol.
As a parent would you want to go to a party at a splash pad? Would potentially having to wear a bathing suit deter you from going?
Nope. But, honestly, I don't ever wear a bathing suit to a splash pad. I wear shorts and a tank top. When Andrew was a lot younger, I would wear a sports bra under my tank top, as I would likely get a little wetter. Nowadays, I never get wet.

We go to a splash pad in summer a lot, and I don't wear a swim suit. it's usually hot so if I do have to run in and get a little wet it's fine
like PP said I'd rather a splash pad than pool party because my kids can't swim so being in the water in a party setting is stressful. They love the splash pad!
We have had/will have a birthday party on 1. Last Saturday (at the beach) 2. Last Sunday 3. Last night 4. This Sunday (at the zoo) 5. The Sunday after
Fortunately I like most of the mums and there tends to be wine but it's a lot!!!
We have had one or two every weekend say in Spril and May is shaping up to be the same. Having two kids the same age in different classes means lots of parties.
It also means that we had over 50 kids at the boys party on Sunday. It wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be, though. Yay for big parks and hired entertainment
I cheated and ordered a 5lb tub of fondant from amazon for the upcoming birthday cake making. Normally I make my own marshmallow fondant but I figured, I'll spend $10 on enough sugar and marshmallows and then it's a sticky mess and always seems too soft ... OR I spend $20 on a big tub of fondant
of course, there's a good chance the purchased fondant won't actually be easier to work with ... I've never bought it before. I bought the satin ice brand as I've ordered that brand of gumpaste and it's been excellent
Took the afternoon off work (we have this weird rule that you can only take 4 or 8 hrs off...) to bring W to his 5yr doctor appt. It's not til 330, so I have a few hours to myself. I SHOULD go home and organize the kids clothes but I MIGHT go shopping or get a pedicure instead
We just got home from the water park. The boys had so much fun, and Blake really came out of his shell - he was going down all the slides he was able to and was voluntarily putting his face under the water and really excited about everything. Colton was nervous about the slides, but by mid day yesterday, he was going down all the baby slides. He wouldn't go down any of the enclosed slides. They had to go down themselves so we didn't push it. He loved the basketball hoops too. I'm so glad we did it even though we had to pull B from school for 2 days. . They're both sleeping now and I'm relaxing finally.
Right?? I'm hoping it's not a lady rabbit planning on having rabbit babies in my yard.
! That happened at our old house, and I almost hit nest with our mower. I was paranoid the rest of the year that I would run one over, even though my garden was demolished

Oh no!! That would be so sad!
I'm tempted by their cuteness, but this rabbit has started munching on the leaves of a raspberry bush. So I can't handle a whole nest of them. I haven't even planted my other veggies yet because it's been annoyingly cold.

we have a ton of rabbits in my neighborhood and all my gardening friends swear by a product that is basically made of the blood of small animals (rabbits, chipmunks, etc). It's dried and you just sprinkle it around your garden so the rabbits think a scary carnivore lives there and won't go in. Doesn't affect the plants at all.

Miss you guys! Our trip to the big island was so fantastic, we had such a great time. I already wish we were back on vacation, lol. Things are so busy, and the days I think we're going to have a break keep filling up.
And I'm in a play group here, which is wonderful, but we started small and now it's this HUGE production and so many people and I'm trying to find a way to scale it back. It started with like 5 of us, and then, "themes" and Pinterest stuff was doable (although annoying), but now it's like planning a full blown party once a month and it's completely absurd. Why do people do this to themselves? Lol
Rhysee has been terribly grumpy lately! Driving me crazy! So whiny and just not happy- I feel bad for him because it's not his normal self but I don't what is bothering him
Probably lack of sleep. He still wakes up 1-4 times a night (he's almost three!! but Laney didn't really STTN until after 3 either) - the other night was every two hours (so I'm right there with you on the sleep deprivation steph196 !)
and probably lack of food because he still isn't eating much but we start feeding therapy on Tuesday!

Thanks! I was thinking something like that or coyote urine. Both seem equally gross, lol.
ETA: so far we seem to have gotten rid of it by letting elizabeth run at it yelling "BUNNY!" It didn't care when the dog was outside, but fled in the face of a toddler
I opened a big bag of peanut M&Ms yesterday and have eaten almost the entire bag...oops.
I is such a finicky eater, but tries to shovel all sorts of outdoor things into his mouth....weeds, mulch, leaves, rocks. Outside time with him is exhausting.
H is almost done with his semester and has a little downtime before his summer teaching stuff starts. I'm hoping to fit in a couple of day trips to cross things off our Michigan bucket list.

I was in a moms' group through Meetup for a long time. There were a ton of groups, and lots of people wanted to be involved, but it all started to get a little crazy. The girl in charge instituted some rules that helped thin it out and keep the quality of people involved up. It's been disbanded for a year or so, since most of the kids are older and just too busy, but we're all still close and get together without kids several times a year. I don't know if any of this would help your situation or not, but I figured it'd be worth mentioning.
- There was a membership fee annually. I want to say it was $25? The money went towards a couple of large group parties we had every year. (Halloween, a spring picnic, and they used to do a kiddie prom) It helped to weed out the people who would show up once and never again.
- There were hosting requirements. Every member had to host a playdate once a quarter. It could be in your house with cute crafts and snacks, or something as simple as saying "I'm going to be at playground X on this day and time."
- There were also attendance requirements. Everybody had to go to two meet ups a month, I think.
- For some playdates, the host could set a limit on how many guests they could have. That way, you didn't end up having 20+ families show up at your house.
It seemed a little strict, but after I spent time with other groups, I understood the need for the rules and regulations. (Wow, that got long. Hopefully it helps!)

I wouldnt mind a splash pad party! I prob just wouldn't wear a suit. I actually do wear a suit when we go here in the summer if it's super hot but I prob wouldn't for a party. But it is nice bc you don't have to get in with them like a pool party.
Loco Coco It's 89 here right now and I'm so uncomfortable! I just turned on the air and am laying in my bed while Sydney entertains her brother. I'm melting.
