Anyone interested in donating*amazon list posted*

My refugee family will be arriving may 31st. While I'm hunting for an apartment I'm trying to also factor in all the household items they'll need. So I wanted to put it out there to you ladies that I would appreciate anything any of you would like to donate.

If you have dishes or pots and pans or bed sheets anything in good condition you don't need or want, they would be extremely helpful if you wouldn't mind parting with them.

This is a family of 4 by the way, a couple in their 50's and 27 year old and 21 year old sons.

They are from Mosul Iraq (Assyrian Christians) and fled when ISIS invaded. They migrated to Baghdad and after a while we're stripped of their homes and assets and harassed and threatened. They escaped to Turkey where they have been refugees for almost 2 years. In turkey they face similar hardships although not as dire, they've remained under the mercy of the government and can be deported at any time, which they are often reminded of.

Incase any of you are unaware these are My blood relatives. My uncle his wife and two sons (my dad's brother) they've suffered a lot and we're relieved the process is almost over and the last of our family will be out of danger.

Anything any of you might have to spare would be a blessing to them and a great help to us, I'm sponsoring them so they are depending, for their first year here, on me and my and my dad's funds.

This is such great news!

Have you thought about putting something like a registry together at Target or something? I can't remember if you're in Canada or not, so wondering if it would be easier to have something shipped directly to you? I can also take a look around the house and see what we can spare.

Yes I'm in the greater Toronto area, target has left Canada unfortunately and ya I don't mind having anything shipped but the cost would be Pricey.

Do yoi have anything at all for them yet? There are some inexpensive pots and on sets on Amazon but not sure if you need a full set ?

I have a friend who was very involved in sponsoring a refugee family here in Chicago and I know she had a very comprehensive list of every thing they would need for their apartment. I can get it for you if you think it would be helpful

I'll love to donate! Just let me know what's needed! A few weeks ago Jc Penney here had all their winter coats on sale for 70% off there were some really nice ones there for quite cheap (of course I have no clue what's left now). I'm assuming they will need winter gear as well?

Ya I don't know of they've ever even seen snow. Lol what a surprise Canadian winters will be.

I told my grandma about all your guys generosity and asked her what else I should put on my wish list and she's like oh I have mountain 's of this and that in the basement in boxes un used pots pans Pyrex, so she's crossing a lot off my list, Ive never appreciated her hoarding more. I'm working on a wish list it's just tough because I'm not amazon savvy. I'll let ya'll know when I have it ready. Thank you guys so much!
