I love the shimmer of highlighter. I pretty much use it instead of blush on days I want to look extra shiny, ha. But I know there are other ways to use it, I'm just not sure exactly how. How do you use highlighter? And what do you use?
I use a few different colors of e.l.f. facial whip, depending on my mood.
I use Becca Champagne Pop pressed powder highlighter.
I put it on where this diagram shows. I don't go all the way down my nose though, because I have a super long nose and don't like accentuating it - I just put it on the bridge area. And only on rare occasion do I put it above my lip in the lip bow.
I use a light colored eyeshadow under my brows and in the inner corner on my eyes instead of the highlighter.
ETA: I form a "C" around my upper brows to the top of my cheekbones rather than doing two separate lines. I also put a dab in the middle of my forehead, a little lower than center. Not sure if this is right though.
I mostly use highlighter on my upper cheek bones area and then whatever is left on the brush I run it down my nose and above my lip. I sometimes use it around my eye area or on my eyelids but I mostly use eyeshadows for that. I don't do it much but you can dab highlighters on the middle of your lips over lipstick to add some shine and dimension.
I just use it on the high points of my cheeks mostly. I have a couple different Becca ones, I like them but I'm open to new suggestions too if anyone has one they love.
Looooove highlighter. For me, I have a round face and a nicely shaped nose, so I go for heavy on the nose and Cupid's bow to add length and draw attention to my nose, and medium on the cheek bones. Only on forehead/chin when I'm feeling like putting in more effort.
I use Becca when I want a lot of oomph. I got a deluxe sample of an hourglass highlighter that I love (can't recall the specifics), and that's my go to for professional settings or other things calling for less bling.

I love highlighter, but can't use it in place of blush. They do very different things on my face and I don't want to make my cheeks look even fuller!
I just got the Cover FX drops in Celestial and I.love.them. I thought they may be too cool toned, but I have a small size of Moonlight and they're both great and look so different.
I only put them on the top of my cheekbones. Putting on my nose or cupid's bow just doesn't feel like "me" if that makes sense.
I'm obsessed with highlighter but I mostly use it on the tops of my cheeks out to my temples and then above my brows. I've picked up a couple of the NYX duo illumination highlighters (lavender steel and snow rose) and I LOVE them. I have a million other ones too, those are just my two most recent. Also recently got the Mac extra dimension skin finish in Beaming Blush that looks pinkish in the pan but golden on the skin.

I use it on the top of my cheekbones, a dab on my nose and sometimes my cupids bow, inner corner of my eye and brow bone if I'm going out or taking my time doing my makeup.
ETA: right now I'm using the Balm, Mary Lou Manizer.

Oh that's super helpful, thank you. I think I'll try that out this weekend! I always feel weird putting makeup (other than foundation) above my brows or my cupids bow, or down my nose. But I do like to rock a minimalist look at the weekend when I'm just running a few errands.
My SIL taught me years ago to make mirror image 3s starting at your forehead and ending at your chin. I have no idea if that's right but it seems to work for me. This is a great question, though, because I just got a duo highlighter in my ipsy bag.
Between talking to MUA at MAC and Sephora, I have learned where the best places to highlight my face is, and will typically highlight my cheekbones (ending just a smidge past my pupil), my chin, brow bones, and sometimes my forehead above my nose. It depends on the highlighter I use and where I'm going. Randomly, like today, I will highlight my cupids bow.

Hmm, that's more of the bronzer shape from what I learned. I feel like highlight needs to be more intentional (but blended) than that.

Ah, yes. You're right. I use a bronzer. I have no clue what to do with a highlighter then.
My HG is the Becca Amethyst one. Adore it. I put some high on my cheekbones, down my nose and a little right above my lips when I'm wearing a really bold color.
That one looks so pretty. I've talked myself out of buying it 10 times, but I think I'll pick it up next time there's a coupon.

Try the NYX lavender steel. It's so beautiful and wearable and it's so inexpensive. I love it!
