Yeah, that's a nice thing to spraypaint. I'd say at least 6, but I might be more likely to buy 10, just in case, and return the unused ones when I'm done. I'm always amazed at how much spray paint I use. Or maybe that's just me.
If you don't have one, I'd also buy a spray paint trigger for sake of not killing your fingers.

I finished the bed this weekend! It took 7 cans and about 6 coats. It wasn't too hard just took a long time and then I let it cure for 48 hours before putting it together.
Overall I'm happy with it and for $40 it looks cute. I'm worried it will knick easily so we will see!
Room isn't styled at all but my nearly 6 year old loves it 😜
It looks great! To protect against Knicks and scrapes try using a clear coat spraypaint. We used it on painted doorknobs in a rental and it worked really well.
