We have no firm plans. Dh needs to keep working on the lawn and building a place for the kid's playset. Other than tjat maybe the library and park time.

Another busy weekend here. W has swimming after school. His school has rented out a local amusement park for family night so we will stop somewhere for dinner on the way. It will be a late night and we have to be up bright and early to meet with the contractor and flooring guy before heading off to a kid party at one of those jump places. All of this will end by 11:15 tomorrow.
DH and I have a wine dinner at a steakhouse tomorrow night so we will probably let W pick lunch and then go swimming at MILs before dinner.
Hoping to sleep in on Sunday. I promised W that we could have a playdate. There is a good chance there will be rain all day so we won't know what we're doing until then. It's that time of year before it gets too darn hot that I prefer to be outside, so I hope it's not a complete washout.
B has swim lessons after school, and then we're meeting MIL for dinner and to hand off the boys because we're leaving for Mexico for 4 days!
Except E has a bit of a temperature, and has been pulling on his ears telling me they hurt. He has 2 year molars coming in, but I'm worried he has an ear infection. So we're headed to the doctor this morning and poor buddy fell asleep in the car during drop-off for B.
Yawn. We had tornado sirens and severe thunderstorm alerts last night, dragged everyone downstairs for a few hours, no one slept. I'm tried. Thankfully there doesn't appear to be any damage.
Daniels graduation is today, he had us download the trolls soundtrack last night so he could practice one of his songs.
All the kids are still asleep, and I'm enjoying my coffee in silence 😁
We were supposed to get snow last night, but it turned out to be a bust. It's still pretty gray and raw though, so today will probably be a jammie and movie day. And laundry. Never ending laundry.
Amelia is teething. I got 3 hours of broken sleep. And my husband had the balls to go into work late so he could sleep a little longer because HE was exhausted....i think this would qualify as justifiable homicide.
I went out with some moms from Jamie's class last night. We went jewelry making. There was the option to choose the beads and then make the jewelry yourself, or choose the beads and let the people who worked there make it while you drank wine and ate cheese. GUESS WHICH I CHOSE?? Then we went out for margaritas and tacos. I love being with grown ups.
H is still sick but getting better, his temperature isn't nearly as high as it was but he's still grumpy and sleeping a lot. It's also still snowing, wth. I want a nice weekend to get stuff done and will probably just get cold weather and a sick child. Maybe I can start painting A's room, I'm going to attempt to do clouds like this along the ceiling but no rainbow.
Oh and my child is calling me out for my shopping. The other day she said "mom, will you stop buying me shoes? I have too many, and they won't fit in my shoe cabinet!" So...guess she has too many lol
Before my grandma passed away, she made a bunch of quilt tops for her kids and grandkids. Well she didn't get a chance to finish them so I have 4 tops (my sisters, mine, dads, and moms) that I would eventually like to finish. I've only done one quilt before and it was small and as wide as a normal amount of fabric so I just used basic fabric as the backer. I have no clue where to begin learning how to make quilt backs, do they sell extra wide fabric for it or do I need to sew some together?

I believe they sell extra wide. nannerl would know better?
DH gets home tomorrow afternoon - he's been in South Africa since last Sunday. I know he will exhausted when he gets here from the 22 hour trip plus jet lag, but I don't car and I'm handing the kids and dog over to him immediately upon arrival lol
Our house is being power washed right now as we prep for paint and some repairs. It's very loud and I feel like I need to keep circling to make sure water isn't sneaking inside somehow.
H and I both took today off. We dropped the kids off and went to breakfast then got the groceries (having a BBQ for closer friends after their big park party)
Now I'm decorating cakes.
I bought myself a swivel cake stand on Amazon the other day and it's amazing. It is making everything much easier. Totally worth the $15
DD had her last day of PreK today. The PreK students participated in all parts of the mass (they even did the readings). It was so sweet. Then they all sang Let Me Be Little in front of altar at the end and made all of the parents cry.
I'm off for the summer! I'm being induced Monday so I'm missing the last week of work. I hope this weekend passes quickly bc I'm ready for this baby.

Being a homeowner and adulting sucks. It has been in the 90s here this week. We went to turn on the central air and it wouldn't turn on. So we played homeowner "press your luck" and called a repair person. Thankfully it only ran $200 but I had a sleepless night last night of panic attack that we would have to spend thousands to replace the unit.
@lindy, I'm by no means an expert, but I've just sewn narrower widths of fabric together to make backings. My bigger question would be how are you going to quilt them? My home machine wouldn't be able to handle the size of what I'm picturing your grandmother made. Have you looked into having them professionally quilted and bound by someone with a long arm machine?

yep, we're having to replace both of ours, $9400 . . . for the cheapest quote of several. Sucks big time! But they are 100% absolutely necessary here and we've been limping these units along for several years already.

Pretty sure ours is original to the house (1994). I'm scared it will go out any day. Please make it 2.5 more years until we can move!
Ours are original to the house from '98. One went out completely and they changed the law where they don't make that type of refrigerant anymore, so it's getting astronomically expensive to put in more of that type of refrigerant, if you can even find a service person that will do it (everyone we called said they won't service one that old). When we do move, we need to sell quickly and that would have been a huge issue to have such crappy old units. Still sucks! My brother wants to buy a house and said it would "be cheaper than renting." HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah until the AC dies, the washer craps out, the fridge defrosts and you lose all your food, the fence falls over, the hot water heater breaks and starts spewing water out the side of the house, etc (all these things have happened in the last 5 years here).
I just realized I need to decide on a theme for H's 2nd birthday, I cannot believe he is 2 months away from being 2. He loves balls and trains so I should probably pick one of those. I should just make a cake that looks like a giant ball, it's like the only word he says consistently and he says it about 1000 times a day and anything that is a circle is a ball lol.
