So I just Recieved all their flight info I'm so nervous I need to get beds and mattresses this week. I also get the keys to their apt this week so I can start getting it ready. Omg this is really so close now!!

Are ikea bed frames and mattress good? I've never been to ikea and I'm going probably Friday to buy their bedroom furniture, is this place good choice? Also any recs of dressers or chest of drawers would be very appreciated. Thnx!

BTW my grandma has been having a blast opening all the boxes of your donations she oohs and ahhs and keeps telling me to thank you guys so much she is actually really perplexed as to why people would donate, I tried to explain the kind of community this is and she's just amazed. Thanks so much again. She's unboxing so they can bring it next week over the boarder without ton of boxes in the car. She fan girled hard over the electric tea kettle.

DesertMoon we have a crib and a linen closet and some smaller things from ikea and haven't had any issues!

Bought the boys twin beds nice ones with draws and storage 249 each I'm happy about it. The chest of drawers was in sale for 149 it was not in stock I got a raincheck though.

Update:

So I sign the lease tomorrow and pick up all three beds probably Saturday. I got word that only my cousin Ghaith will be arriving the 31st. His parents and younger brother come the week after on the 7th.

That gives me a little more time to get the place together because Ghaith will stay with us that week because he's alone. I'll also have his help and a jump start on his ESL classes and paperwork.

I feel bad because I work and my kids are away all day and DH works so Ghaith will be alone at my house during some days. I was going to maybe drop him at my in laws or have my girlfriend who is an Arabic speaker take him out a bit, but from what I understand he is painfully shy and will already feel so awkward with me... Idk how to gauge if he'd rather be alone or be with people because he'll be too shy either way and just say "whatever is easier for you."

He is 27 his younger brother is 21 and their parents are in their late 50's

So my cousin has arrived. He is lovely and sweet and very polite. A very happy smiley social person. He even had people at the airport waiting for him. Friends he met in the refugee program in turkey that arrived before him.

I took his to service Ontario today to order his permanent resident card and heath card. While I did this he chased Vivienne all over the mall without a single complaint. I got the keys to the apartment today and I'm going there later to clean the fridge wipw the floors and clean the bathroom so we can start putting the furniture in.

I have to do this all again next week lol. I'm so exhausted but I'm glad to have him he already feels like family. Also Vivienne keeps calling him "Adam", she thinks he is my brother and immediately took to him because she thinks he's him. Lol

Yes they've always lived in Iraq and my dad left Iraq in the late 70's. I've never met them.

They are thanks the boys start work tomorrow and they're so excited and happy to get out there! We got them a job at a fruit factory and they start school in Sept.
