What are you planning for this week?
I'd like to hit the gym M-Thursday, at least
Any long term fitness goals for 2017?
My goal is 10 strict body-weight pull-ups by the end of the year. I'm actually aiming for the end of the summer if possible.
Where do you need help/how can we support you this week?
Starting this post was a little self-serving. I need food help! I keep doing this thing where I tell myself I will eat healthier. I then decide, "I just can't this week, because I have travel/family time/some vent." I decided over the weekend that excuse wasn't cutting it anymore. There will always be something on the horizon. I need to cut down on the junk 90% of the time and let the events be the 1-off. So I did Step One. I went grocery shopping and the only junk I bought was cereal and 1 ice-cream treat for H. As long as I can steer clear of those, I'm in the clear at home. Luckily, neither of those are majorly tempting for me. Lunches and dinners should be good too. I have healthy tuna/chicken options for lunch, got fruits and veggies for snacks, and H/I always do healthy dinners (during the week, at least). Weekends are my problem to tackle next! The thing I need to tackle first is breakfast. I am not a savory breakfast person. I also, more often that I'd like to admit, stop at Starbucks for a sugary iced drink after dropping little man off and that becomes my breakfast. It's not terrible calorie-wise, but I checked the sugar and carb count and it's like a bomb dropped. So immediately hopping to whole scrambled eggs or something is a recipe for failure. It always has been. Is this a terrible plan for week 1 to ease in? If so, any better ideas?
1) I picked up some of those frozen Vans power grain protein waffles. I thought I could do 1 of those with some peanut butter. It would give me a little sweetness, but also start the morning with a few grams of protein. Next weekend, I could make my own healthier version to freeze and pick up a cleaner nut butter for week 2.
2) Allow myself 2 Starbucks a week, so I don't immediately throw in the towel, but maybe tap into our resident coffee expert travelbug to figure out a less sugary replacement for my favorite drink.

suzv - Nope, I don't like yogurt either. This is why breakfast is so hard for me! I blame my mom (haha jk)! She worked, so I survived on sugary cereal and pop tarts. Now, hot breakfast/savory breakfast/etc. doesn't do it for me.
Will you be able to work out more when school is out? I know a lot of the ladies at my gym are teachers. They work out when I do at 4:30 and seem like they come straight from school before daycare pickup maybe. They were mentioning they may switch to AM classes this summer though.

- my plan for this week is to get my ass in gear. H is dropping weight like tomorrow and I'm sitting here eating chocolate. I will count my calories and workout! No excuses!
- my long term goals is to feel confident and sexy. That's something I haven't felt in a long time.
- this post and all of you ladies help. I know I'm not around as much as I want to be lately but having your support and encouragement helps.

wanderingenough have you tried overnight oats or baked oatmeal. I like waffles with peanut butter. It's one of my go tos.
Weekends are hard for me too. If I work, we eat whatever the boss buys us or is convent. If he is off, we go wine tasting and I make a large meal for dinner with dessert. Something I need to stop.
wanderingenough If my memory serves me correctly, your fave is the Iced coconut milk mocha macchiato? Yes? (Soooo yummy) and my second question, have you tried starbucks cold brew?

Ha! Yes, I'm all about the CMM! I actually was googling last night and was thinking the cold brew might be a good replacement for someone who is not into super strong coffee/prefers iced. Accurate assessment?

Yes!! Assessment = correct. So, my suggestion to lower the sugar intake would be to get the cold brew, with coconut milk, and 1-3 pumps of the White Mocha sauce (which is in the CMM) then you get the lower sugar, but still aspects of your favorite drink!
Why is it that as soon as I break my step goal for one day I just go down hill from there? Urg.
I missed my goal by 250 steps last night! 😞 I was on an 8 day streak. I'll never beat my most recent streak of 23 days.
My goals right now are to watch portion control and to hit my steps every day. We have so much going on it's hard to get to the gym. Hopefully I can get back into it soon though.
