DH is a snorer. It never bothered me but last night I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so I had to listen to his snoring for almost 2 hours. Usually when he starts I can move a little bit in bed and it wakes him, he readjusts and stops. I think it's gotten worse because he's heavier now than we first met. He used to only snore after a boozy night. Now it's all the time every night. Any tips?
My DH snores too. I usually am fine as noise doesn't keep me from falling asleep. My issue is that he sweats like a heater. Sometime I pull the blanket back over to me and it's soaked. YUCK! He also starts chewing in his sleep with his tongue smacking his gums!
No idea on tips? My mom has gotten the sleep mask and it's made a difference for her.
Urgh, yes. H snores, but I usually try to roll him over and it stops. If he rolls back onto his back then I get annoyes and pinch his nose. M slept with me last night and kept me up with his snoring from 4-5am! I tried moving him around and it didn't stop, but I can pinch my kid's nose!

Hey! Since when did you start sleeping with my husband!?!?
I have no tips. Maybe those snore strip nose things?

How do you survive this!? I wish we had a washer to wash the sheets everyday. It could be the dead of winter and he's sweating like a hog.
We bought some obnxiously over priced mattress cover and special pillow. There is no duvet in out duvet cover. I pile blankets on my half and he sleeps with just the sheet-y duvet bit. It is so much better. No sweat in winter, and only the worst of summer does he soak the bed.

My DH snores, and it is definitely a problem. I sleep with earplugs every night, and he tries not to sleep on his back. If he still snores loud enough to keep me up and I can't get him to stop my pushing him around into different positions, I sleep in the guest room. If he has a cold (that makes him snore SO loud), he sleeps in the guest room. It sucks, but it works. I wish I had better advice, haha. GL!
Awe heck. H snores, the dog snores, I snore ... I feel sorry for any house guests we may have. I just wake him up and make him roll over. The dog. I wake her ass up and make her go to the sofa. Me, I sleep so soundly H can't wake me up and he has to move to the sofa.

My husband sleeps next to a snorer (sometimes, at least). I actually want to see a specialist when I get around to it, because I think it may be an anatomical issue. When I do a hard workout and am gasping for breath I have to keep my mouth open pretty wide or it gets a little "snore-y." My roommate in college discovered that if she clapped once loudly, it roused me enough to make me turn and stop snoring so she could get to sleep. Sounds like your DHs are heavier sleepers / snorers than that, though.

I know someone who used those breathe right strips and stopped snoring.
Fortunately, the snoring issue is rare. The flipping around like a fish in a basket issue, however, was a nightly drama...until...we got a new mattress! Now I am sore from extra firmness, but at least I sleep more from being left in peace. We also have one super expensive pillow (again, not mine...).

My DH used to snore (he's lost some weight). When he was snoring, I would drink SleepyTime tea before bed and sleep with ear plugs. It usually worked.
I'm thankful he doesn't snore much now. With a toddler, I don't feel comfortable wearing ear plugs.
When one of us has a cold, someone sleeps in the guest room. We kind of "fight" over who gets to sleep in the guest room. The bed is quite nice and, in our last house, it was on the third floor--a quiet, serene and calm space.

Haha. My DH might snore but I'm the flipper. I toss and turn plus take up the whole bed. I probably wake him up more with that then he dosages me up with snoring. Our bed is pretty firm. But I guarantee once we settle into a house we will be getting a King sized bed.

Just a suggestion - you can get mattresses that allow for each person to adjust the firmness to what they want. Then maybe you can both get a good night's sleep :-)

DH snores, but it´s a weight thing. He didn´t snore as much when he was thinner. And if I push him so that he rolls over then usually that´s enough. My dad wears the snore strips and my mom says that they help.
