Well, that wasn't the part I wanted to emulate, but I figured it might have been what stuck out to others. It was basically a fully-funky boho wedding before that was a trend. FWIW, I don't remember too much else about old posters.
(they both "wore the pants" in the relationship so they split the pants. I freaking LOVED her bio. --creepy lurker)
She also passed around all of the glass she used in her reception to other NEYers.
It was cute, I guess, but I never understood the love.
Now, back to Verona: I VIVIDLY remember after the Haiti earthquake, she made a VERY tone-deaf blog post about it. Basically, she said, "I am so saddened to hear about the devastation in Haiti!!1! My prayers are with them in their time of need. I bought new bikinis and dresses for my upcoming trip to the DR - I love wearing a new suit every day!!" The other place had a FIELD DAY with that one.
This is why the likes system annoys me. If so many people thought Elsa's post was spot on, why can't they defend their position with actual words? I mean, maybe I'm wrong and it really is terrible to call out a hair blogger for having bad hair! I want to be educated!

YES that was V. She made a stupid post about it and got called out and was like, I'll make a donation! I think she was worried about having to see poverty and destruction. It was all very privileged white woman

Just promise if they explain it you'll nod pensively and say you are listening and learning.
I'm convinced celiacmom was scamming some other parts of the internet. She did it once with a dead kid story, so it's obvious she had no morals. There's no way she was making that amount of money in her home kitchen.

Celiac was probably stealing people's cc # and such and selling them or using them herself. I don't doubt she was making money because she was certainly spending it. I just don't think it came from gross cookies in a home kitchen.

I liked elsa's post. Not because I GAF about criticizing Veronika. She's a beauty and style blogger, which is totally fair game IMO.
My like was because I have/had long hair and thebreakfastclub 's comment that long hair isn't in style and that apparently a shoulder-length chop is necessary to look "stylish," which I think is a dumb opinion.
So basically, my like only had to do with ME. LOL.
eclaires I feel like we are the same in that we are both pretty basic (said with love!!!) so V annoys us because omg she is nothing special. Stop making blog posts about outfits that are the exact same as mine. I have boring fashion sense and SO DO YOU. (That's aimed at V, you are more fashionable E.)

But the leafy green veggies was someone else.
I literally have that blog post open now LOL. Such a fucking mess.
FYI: that was back in 2010, and her hair looks EXACTLY THE SAME.

My guess is that they consider it off limits to talk about any woman's looks negatively, regardless of how much she invites the commentary/criticism. And my further guess is that it's because they're insecure in their own looks, and because Veronika does fit the mold of standard European beauty, what must people be thinking about them if they're thinking bad things about her?
I haven't looked at who liked the post so this isn't aimed at anyone in particular. ETA: and obviously I'm guilty because talk of her hair made me think about my own basic hair lol

I did not mean to imply that people shouldn't have long hair. Only that Veronika's looks limp and sad. She's using a $270 curling wand and $300 worth of products, per her May hair post. I expect a better return on investment!
This thread has taken a number of surprising turns, and I appreciate the rainy stay-cation reading. But it also makes me realize that, even though I feel like I am here a lot, I have missed a lot of drama.

ITA. Her "style" has basically been the same since she launched her blog. There's this one post that talks about using rollers to get a "voluminous" look. This is the main image for the blog post:
So we're not allowed to talk about some fashion/beauty blogger's hair, right? Is this in the same way we can't say that Ann Coulter as praying mantis arms?

Exactly! Though I don't know if I am actually fashionable, I did just buy a dress from lands End lol. I see more fashionable ensembles at PTA meetings than on that blog and everyone knows PTA meetings are where fashion goes to die. She basically buys whitebread popular products and is like HOLY GRAIL. There's nothing original there or anything unique offered (like if she had a personality and made fun of herself for being basic). There's nothing wrong with it really but it's also not worth looking to emulate.
And seriously, whatever make your money off other people being dumb I don't care...but I vehemently object to the idea she can't be criticized for her looks, style, etc. because that's her whole product! She is the product she's selling and making money off of and if I want to say it's dumb and ugly, I can.
So no talking about some fashion blogger's hair, right? Is this in the same way we can't say that Ann Coulter as praying mantis arms?
I missed this debate, but I just googled "Anne Coulter long arms" and got this picture. She does indeed look like a praying mantis here. The angles are just way off.

I knew about the lactation cookie stuff (don't remember why, just the posts after) but did not hear anything about hair/ants in the titty cookies. I would like to know more.
Also, His, I am sorry about the chemo brain. It is the worst (followed only by chemo mouth, ugh). People are the absolute worst.
Also thought it was a stupid opinion that people her age shouldn't have long hair. I was liking Elsa's comment in agreement to that.
Agreed that if you're going to profit off your looks it should be on point. I don't have an issue with criticizing someone's look if that person opens themselves up for commentary.
