This is a stupendously unimportant thing, given all the other stuff that's happened today, but I'm still throwing it up here for comment. Just know I know I'm being ridiculous.
Will's baptism is coming up and I want to take food plus cake in for the congregation fellowship hour. We don't have the budget for a custom cake for that many people, so I was going to do what I did last time and dress up a big Costco sheet cake. I was thinking about just buying a Noah's Ark cake topper and doing the fondant lettering and coordinating doodads myself (I know my limits here).
A local cake shop quoted me $50 for a 6"x 6" 3D ark, but I'm also seeing similar sized toppers on etsy for $35-$45 made from cold porcelain. I know nothing about this material-- I'm just assuming it's light enough not to collapse a cake.
What if you just bought some Noah's ark toys and put them on a blue sheet cake? I did that once when Abby wanted a My Little Pony cake. It looked cute and was really easy.
I had thought about that! We have a wooden ark already, but I kind of like the little people one too. I dunno... I'm sure I'll get decisive at some point!
I'll preface this by saying I don't know much about cakes, but I'd make sure to check shipping as shipping can be high on etsy, and you may end up spending $50ish through there as well.
that topper is so cute! I think the bakery is the best option mainly because I just don't know how people ship these things without them falling into a million pieces! if I touch one of my fondant figures a piece falls off lol
I'd offer to make you one but there's no way it would make it unscathed.
I would just use a plastic figurine if you can find one. Super easy and everyone loves cake lol. I went cheap on A's birthday cake by putting plastic trolls on her cake, nobody cared!
Personally it's cake Everyone loves cake right? I would get the Costco cake as is It says happy baptism It's super generous by just being cake Have Costco write happy baptism and a cross or ask if they can pipe an ark
