I feel like We have tried a gamut of spf sprays- from Target's version to Coppertone, etc, but all make us feel like we have residue on our skin.
We are fair skinned and want to spray spf when we take our dog out for a walk (and any prolonged outdoor activity), but we hate the way our skin feels.
I know Banana Boat has a new "Dry Balance" spray that is supposed to be lightweight and non greasy but wanted to know if there were other recommendations?

Doesn't exist. Only non greasy sunscreen I have found is the Japanese kind. They aren't spray though nor are they waterproof. I think the greasy is what makes it waterproof

Ugh this totally blows! I don't even need waterproof- just something that we can wear when we are outdoors (dog park, walk around the neighborhood, gardening, sports games, etc)
I keep reading great reviews for the banana boat foam stuff.
All I can say is target brand ruined so many of my swimsuits. And bullfrog caused me mega burns and was sticky!
Ugh Target's spray is the worst- I just threw away an almost entire bottle because the residue it left made us want to take a shower immediately after applying.
As for Banana Boat foam, I only see it to darken? (Not for spf protection?)
All the sprays I've tried feel pretty greasy to me. Neutrogena, I think a sensitive one, is slightly less so. The smoothest one I've tried is a lotion called Blue Lizard. Bought it for our kid and it's definitely my favorite one if I'm using a lotion.
Consumer Reports just did a big spread on sunscreen this month. They said that sprays are rarely as effective as lotions because you don't get enough quantity to cover yourself.
Their best-rated spray was Trader Joe's SPF 50. The best lotion was the Walmart brand (Equate) and Coppertone Sport or Water Babies.
I've always felt that we burned more with spray, I figured it was user error but maybe not. AND it doesn't go as far, like one bottle lasts maybe a few times at the pool between me and the kids.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

It was a pretty interesting article. Kiddo and I are super pale and we have a history of skin cancer in my family. I usually use natural products and I read somewhere that Babyganics was good, but CR gave them a 22/100. Equate, Coppertone, and Waterbabies were 98 or 100! They didn't test Sun Bum or a few others I've used.
We have a hard time with Wesley's eczema. I've given up and got him a full body suit. Lol. Now I only worry about his face.

We use sun bum spray - of all the sprays I like it best. I think it's really easy to rub in after you spray and I don't think it's sticky or greasy.
I also like blue lizard lotion. It also spreads really easily, does a great job and doesn't feel thick and greasy. I use blue lizard on the kids faces/neck/ears/shoulders and spray on legs/arms/torso.
I like the Neutrogena sun defense line (yellow bottle). I don't remember it leaving me feeling sticky and if I remember to apply it after swimming I don't get burned.
Not a fan of the sprays - they don't last as long nor cover as well for me. We like Banana Boat SPF 50 lotion. No weird residues, it absorbs quickly, and works well. I've even used it on my face in a pinch and didn't have any skin issues. I've also used the CVS and walgreen's lotions with zinc, and they worked great as well.

I'll second or third Alba products. I use the trigger spray version off Amazon buys its light, smells nice, and feels cool. It works well for me and my pale kids.

I use CVS sport 50 spray. It definitely leaves a residue and isn't all that pleasant smelling, either, so you can scratch it for that reason. However, it's the most effective spray I've ever used. I think it's coppertone sport re-canned.
For face or high-burn-prone areas, I use a white zinc-based product. I've tried the clear zinc stuff and it's a no - I burned badly, although it was pretty good about not feeling sticky.
