UPDATE: I purchased the dish, because I loved it. I confirmed that grandparents bought crucifix necklace for their son, so they think they'll do the same for her. I love the idea of jewelry, so if I did a pearl necklace do I buy for 5-10yo or for an adult? Probably younger age, right??
**** I am my nieces' godmother so I have been trying to come up with a gift that she won't get 5 of. Would a dish like this with "may the lord bless you and keep you" with her name at the top be ok? Plus money...
Or should I go more mainstream with a rosary (made with garnet- her birthstone) or a cross necklace?
For us it's traditional for the godparents to give a gold cross and chain so I don't think she'd get multiple crosses. I think the dish is pretty but I like something they'll use better.
I think it's pretty and would be a lovely gift. I think I personally would do something they'd get more use of, though, so I'd probably do a gold chain and cross. The most recent gift I gave, to my cousin's little girl, was a pair of gold cross earrings, since her ears are pierced.

Maybe the dish (which is pretty), and a cross necklace? My sister is my DD's godmother, and she actually gave her her own cross pendant (on a new chain) from when she was baptized. It was sweet.
If the child has a name that is also a popular saint name you can get them a necklace with the saint medal on it. My Godson is Joey and I got him a St. Joseph medal.

I really like that dish! Agree though as the GM you should feel free to get her a gold cross. My sister was DD's GM and she was the only one to give her that. Another idea in that vein could be a bible with her name embossed
I think the dish is cute! I agree its generally the GM who gets buys the gold cross (but I'm pretty sure I actually got mine at my Communion, not Baptism). If you think the grandparents are giving the cross, maybe a string of pearls? I think the dish + money would be a fine gift too though.

First name means rejoice but I know of no saints with it. Middle name is a saint. Same as my middle name, actually.

I actually thought of giving her my crucifix. Maybe I'll save it for her first communion or confirmation...
