Bug spray

Does anyone have a type that works well? I've never seen mosquitoes here like this year. Poor A has had like 15-20 bites the last week or so, I didn't realize they bite through pants so that's were some of them came from. The spray we have maybe works, but i would like to try something else to see if it works better.

Not a spray, but we used this last year on DD. It seemed to help. I had her wear it around one of her ankles, since she usually gets bitten on her lower body. I should probably see if I can find it soon, and order some refills, ha!

I was hoping to buy some today. They said mosquitoes would be worse than usual this year here

I usually do homemade, but they make commercial spray now with Lemon Eucalyptus, which is what I use in mine

I don't mess around with ticks and mosquitoes. I practically bathe Henry in DEET every day before camp in the summer (he's in the woods all day).

If you're looking for DEET free, we used a 20% picaridin spray

We also tried a bunch of the bug bands with citronella on them and they worked ok. They aren't effective without any other bug spray, but I did notice that the kids got a lot more bites overall when they didn't wear them. In other words, they help a little.

Yup. You're gonna need to get yourself some DEET. When I was out there last weekend, claralou and I were discussing bug spray and how people from the east coast don't fuck around because of the crazy diseases our bugs seem to carry that yours just don't.

I've had a lot of lu k with Skeeter Screen. I get it at Whole Foods, but it's available on Amazon.
