Buying My First MAC Lipstick - Pick 2

I think I'm going to finally buy some MAC lipstick.

Two of them specifically, so as to get the one free one from ulta...

Out of the lineup that Ulta carries (which I don't think is the full shebang) if you could only have TWO colors - what would you get?

I can't even decide if I want to go bright or neutral.  I'm an equal opportunity lip lover.  The only thing i don't wear often is a true red, but...for the perfect one maybe my habits could change.

No, I've got things I like in all finishes.  I am probably more likely to wear a satin day to day.

Ok, I think I've settled on a red and something more wearable/day to day - and i'll get breathign fire as my freebie - which knocks out PP or FOF. Also if I'm honest withmyself, I own a LOT of bright pinks in assorted undertones...

So now...so ruby woo or russian red? I always regret wearing things that are drying, but I'd love it to have good staying power. Which one?!?

And...then the other one - amorous and captive both look good to me. They also look identical to me... zoomzoom you have any clarification there? I was also looking at craving, which appears to be in that same color family.

Rebel is all-time fave.

I have 2 of the new Liptensity colors. Glide on smooth, great color intensity and last for a long time, not drying. I have "fireworks" which is super bright red (I use it for shows/performances) and "smoked almond," which I don't love because it's just a little too brown for me.

Ladybug and Cosmo are my favorites. Ladybug is a red, but more pink and not as intense. Russian red looked Better on me than ruby woo, but it's a little too intense for daily wear for me.

ETA: I didn't look at Ulta's list so I don't know if they carry these. sorry!

Amorous and Captive are similar shades. Captive is just a touch deeper in color. I need to take advantage of this sale. Damn it. Lol.

ok, they're going on the list, but I think I'm sticking with my red and wearable light plummy shade plan for this buy.  I like that i'm also totally ignorning some things that have been on my list since the OG MUT.  Like Syrup.

I looooooove Syrup.  It is one of the few lipsticks I have repurchased multiple times.  I'm no help.

So now I need a color that is not a nude/MLBB and not a hot pink.  The only other Mac I own is a limited edition brick reddish color.

My favorite shades are the ones no one talks about, lol. Lustering is bright but sheer and Plumful is a go-to fall color for me (never too early, right?).

My wish list includes Kinda Sexy, Runway Hit, and Relentlessly Red. I've heard the most universally flattering red is MAC Red. I'm also interested in the Liptensity range, probably either Driftwood or Smoked Almond. If I was more adventurous I'd probably go for Vegas Volt or Brick-O-La.

Optix I think will replace a Milani lip gloss. I adore the color but I got less tolerant of the formula and don't wear it.

Lady Danger has been on my list forever

Hug Me as the freebie

Also got an Anastasia brow gel and UD revolution lip gloss that was on sale. The revolution lipgloss formula is what made me less tolerant of other lip glosses.

The revolution lip gloss is the only gloss I like. It's got surprising staying power.

Good call. I love Ruby Woo, but it's much more drying than Russian Red, though both are matte.
