1. I work with this incredibly horrible woman. She's incompetent, sneaky, combative, and quick to play the "you're sexist" card when people try to hold her to any standards. Yesterday she resigned!!! Yay!!!! I drank last night, just to toast her departure.
2. My boss approved a trip to NY for a women's event, and we may try to fly DH up to spend the weekend. I've never spent time as a tourist in NY, so this is very exciting to me. Plus our outside counsel who invited me to the meeting asked if I wanted to go to a Broadway show! Um, yes!
3. No plans this weekend but I might see if BFF and her family want to come over to swim Sunday.
I am currently sitting under a canopy with 10 kids waiting out the rain. Thanks Cindy. Hopefully it clears off and then pool, waterslides, grilling. More camping tomorrow, which is supposed to be nice.
That's an awesome week mommyatty !! NYC is so fun to be touristy!
Summer vacation officially starts today! This is the last day of daycare and DH is done school. Woo! I'm so happy to never write that daycare check again. $$$$
I'm heading out early from work for a weekend away with MIL. We're going to a quilt show and taking a couple classes. I'm typically the youngest person there by... a lot. MIL is one of the younger quilters. lol So I stick out like a sore thumb and don't have nearly the experience others have, but it's a fun weekend doing something crafty. Plus, no kids!
Crazy weekend - DD has a swim party tonight and the rest of the fam is going to a movie. I'm hoping these people are on it so I can run errands and not stay.
Tomorrow I have a mammogram (please let this work - because I have a tumor they want the paperwork a really specific way that doesn't align to what either of my doctors want so this is the third try, second clinic in the same chain. DD starts biofeedback. First birthday party (I am going alone), then meeting friends to swim and have dinner.
Church Sunday, then VBS starts that night so it's a week of super easy meals and chaos. I wish DH would be home to put the kids to bed. Ugh.

Spending my day at the airport because they cancelled my flight and the only available one is 6 hours later. We had significant delays on our flight here on Monday as well. But while I've been sitting here I made a reservation to have DDs birthday party at a local waterpark and ordered her a mermaid swimsuit on Etsy. I know she'll be thrilled.

mommyatty, like you, I've never been to NYC for anything other than work, although I have done some touristy things during my time there but it's always involved some sort of work. Have fun!
Today, I'm headed to Houston to check it out. For those that don't know, my dh has a job oppty there with a former fraternity brother. This guy is starting his own company so it's been going on for months, going through different investors, trying to find the right fit, yada yada yada. So, in case he decides to take this job, we're checking out the area, houses, etc. I'm just looking forward to getting away!

mommyatty, NYC will be so fun! I'm excited for you. DH and I used to go every fall. We loved just walking around.
Tomorrow we go see the new pediatrician - I'm bracing myself. DD is tiny, but hopefully she will at least be on the charts. She seems to be, but my scale at home is not the most accurate, so we shall see.
Then we have DS's year-end piano recital on Sunday. He is playing with his whole class. I envision a lot of chaos. The city is putting on a free outdoor symphony, so we'll do that as well. Should be relaxing.
I always end up eating, drinking and shopping in Houston, so at least those activities aren't super impaired by weather? Sad on the timing!!
ETA - if you have time and it's not weather-dangerous - drive to Galveston. Seeing is understand the Texas "beach". I.e. There is a reason we don't do real beach vacas in Texas - only quick "I want that coastal feel and don't mind brown sand and water" trips.

I'm in limbo for the next couple hours until DH and BIL make a call on whether or not they're going crabbing tomorrow (weather dependent).
I'm signing off work around 2, and will sit in the sun and read a potty training book until the fam gets home or do chore inside while it rains.
Tomorrow is some, none, or all of: gym, swim lessons, steaming/eating the crabbies that may/may not be caught.
Sunday is supposed to be gorgeous and H and his friend will golf in the early afternoon while me and friend's pregnant wife play with the kids in the pool. And I try my damndest not to scare her about having kids. Because these days I feel like an absolute mess of a mother...

It's raining here too. And as of today, I'm supposed to be letting DH's bff's dog out and feeding his sons fish. They originally told DH I was taking care of the fish on Saturday and that was it.
Tomorrow DS has a parade for tee ball. I'm going to walk while all the kids ride in the truck and I'll count it as my exercise. We are going to visit our camping friends too.
Sunday will be church, cleaning, meal prepping and rummage prepping.
I'm working away on fixing up the door to our basement. It's in a very prominent location on our main level, and over the years has gotten very beaten up and pealing and full of random holes from various things that have been attached to it. The original 100 year old bronze door hardware had also been painted over. So I've stripped the paint off the hardware and patched holes on the door and scraped and sanded the loose out paint. Today I'm masking and priming the door and doorway.
Today was supposed to be Parents Night Out at daycare, but they instituted a new 10 kid minimum and didn't meet it because they posted the tiny signup sheet in an out of the way location at the last minute. Not sure what we'll do for dinner.
Tomorrow we're going up to ILs' lakehouse in Michigan without ILs. This is a win-win because I don't have to deal with MIL but we get credit for asking if they wanted to go and for getting use out of the lake house. MIL is always complaining about how we don't use it enough so they are going to sell it and it will be all our fault.
Sunday afternoon we are coming back and going straight to BIL's college graduation party.

It's a normal Friday here. DS's last morning at art camp, then I pick him up after lunch and we have a bit of free time before his gym class.
I'm trying to finish my career counselor questionnaire. I'm probably over-thinking it.
There are fresh strawberries from the farmer's market in the fridge that are calling out to me.
I'm scheduled to work tomorrow, so I get to be around a lot of floral splendor.
I lent my grill to a friend last weekend for Father's Day and she still hasn't returned it. Maybe I should see if I can get it back from her Sunday. But I would really like it for tonight, because I've been thinking all week about making some halumi/veg skewers.
Last night DD1 had a swim meet and we didn't get home until almost 10:00. Today she is going to a pool with a friend that has water slides and other features. I am envisioning putting the girls to bed at about 7:30 and enjoying a quiet evening to myself. DH is on a fire so I'm solo parenting this weekend. We have a birthday party Saturday afternoon and nothing else planned. We do need to get organized a bit for our trip next week.
It's a catch up around the house type weekend for me since I was not home last weekend. It's hotter than hell here in Phoenix, so I will have to figure out how to entertain my almost three year old.
You guys need avatars. Creepy aliens are... creepy.
We're headed up to Tahoe tomorrow for a few days. Very excited. DD is going to see her BFF, I'm going to see my BFF, DS is going to hang out with his future BFF and work on that bonding process (they're both 1 - it's basically brainwashing) and our DH's are likely to get intoxicated. Heck, so am I.
Tonight we are ripping the decking off of our deck. It is starting to rot and my DH put a chair thru a board last week so it's time to go! Should be an interesting night. Saturday we are going strawberry picking and then hopefully buying and starting to put new boards on the deck. It's not a huge deck but will still take some time and DH is the SLOOOWWWWEEESSTTT home construction project person EVER! Sunday I am taking DS to Story Land while DH has a free day to himself.
I always end up eating, drinking and shopping in Houston, so at least those activities aren't super impaired by weather? Sad on the timing!!

It looks like Cindy has moved out of the area but the forecast for the weekend calls for t-storms so we will see. We are supposed to check out some homes to get a feel for the area so I really hope it's not raining when we do that. My husband and kids are already there and in Galveston today. I'd love to check it out myself and I'm hoping there's time.

I just cleaned my closet out while I was home for lunch and I just pulled out soooooo many clothes! I have a lot left in there too. I just need to find the will to get rid of things like that for the rest of the house.
twinmomma - Story Land is amazing!! We buy season passes every year during their black Friday sale and will often go up 6-7 times a year! Levi LOVES it and asks all winter when it will open! You should definitely go over the 4th! Hopefully DH will agree!
k3am , That is the kind of family friendship I dream of!
yummmy , Love Story Land! I'm trying to convince DH we should go over the 4th weekend.
It is kind of the best thing ever. I wish we'd realized how awesome each other are prior to them moving. They moved about 45 mins away when the girls were 2.5. At that point, it was just the girls being friends and we assumed the friendship would fizzle but.. it didn't.
DH is waiting on his connecting flight and should be home in a few hours!!!! This is huge because he was away last weekend and it was So. Hard. By. Myself. We are going on a date to a wine festival tomorrow but will spend the rest of the weekend catching up on things before he goes out of townagain on Monday =(
You know, I'm getting really sick of the rain here in SW PA. There has been a lot of flooding the past two weeks. Cindy has been dumping another 2 inches of rain today and will be tonight too. I'm sure I will be walking into stir crazy kids and DH when I get home. Although, he sent me a cute pic of them laying in our bed with their pjs still on at 1:30pm.
Gym and graduation party tomorrow. Nothing planned for Sunday. But I think we'll be cleaning up the house and backyard for our annual birthdays celebration next Sunday (DH, DD, and I all have early July bdays so we celebrate them all at once around the 4th of July). DH has been slowly putting together the swing set that we ordered for the kids over the past two weeks. I think this weekend is time for it to be finished. I just hope it doesn't rain on Sunday so it can happen.

I also need to add baking to my weekend plans since MIL brought a huge ass bowl of black raspberries to our house last night. I have enough to make cobbler or two and muffins.
