sparrowsong , no, it's just a coincidence. Outlander's Jamie Fraser doesn't have anything else in common with the real Dunbonnet.

ETA: from the comments, "No one has mentioned this, but coincidentally, Diana Gabaldon was not aware of the real Dunbonnet’s name when she wrote the books."

I don't think I could have gone into that cave, and I am not a claustrophobic person generally speaking, but that looked like a tight squeeze. How did a grown man get in there?!  And stay there for so long. Crazy.
