I know it's half way through the week but I thought I'd start this anyways.
I have lots on my to do list today I hope I can get it al done before dragon boating tonight.
And the ILs are coming home today with BIL, which is good news I guess. (It means the break isn't bad, but I really wanted this to be his "rock bottom" and if he's only in the hospital until today it probably won't be.)
This week I am just powering through my exhaustion and trying to clean, clean, clean. So far I'm making amazing progress! I'm done with laundry AND have it put away. Cleaned my master closet yesterday (yes, it took a full day...) and have re-organized two cupboards in the kitchen. I have 3 trash bags of stuff to give away. I'd say my list for this week is already about half done!
Today I was supposed to host 6 kids for an outside playdate and it's cold and rainy. There goes my clean living room
awick14 dragon boating always sounds so colorful and party-like. It makes me think of chinese new year every time
Random: I have "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid stuck in my head. Since I'm home, I'm singing it out loud and of course, I don't sound anything like Ariel, lol. Makes me want to turn on the Disney channel on Pandora.

I was productive on my earlier break today. Called the medical billing office, made a doctor's appointment and attempted to start getting E into the dentist but the one I called doesn't start seeing kids until 6. The lady kinda made me feel crazy for wanting to bring E in just for a checkup. I'm pretty sure it's common to bring young kids in, but whatever, lol. Oh well, I'll look somewhere else!
We have a friend from out of state coming over tonight. I'm always glad to see him but he always comes over so late. I'm guessing he won't get here until 9 and I usually go to bed by 10. I bet DH will be up late tonight.

I thought the average age to start dental visits was 3? Around here people usually see a pediatric dentist so maybe that is why the person was confused. Unfortunately pediatric dentists aren't covered by our insurance so we haven't decided whether to pay out of pocket or what.

I guess I've heard a lot of mixed opinions. I've heard some people take their kids in after their first teeth, other people wait longer. I figured this was a good time. I feel like 6 is late but I can't remember when I first started going as a kid. They said at his 2 year check up that they can put fluoride on his teeth there instead of the dentist if we wanted. I wonder if it's necessary? They recommended it but I had been planning on taking him in to the dentist so we didn't do it. *shrug*

I didn't go to the dentist for the first time until I was 7, but that's because my parents couldn't afford it, not because it was recommended. lol. Luckily I got no cavities until I was 25 so it all worked out. I have a feeling M won't be so lucky. He seems to have his daddy's awful teeth
Does E have spaces between his teeth? My dentist said if there are large gaps and you brush their teeth the need to see a dentist early is less pressing than those pushed tightly together. Not sure how viable that info is, just passing it on anyway. haha.

I think so yeah. Not huge spaces, but they seem normal to me. My view on dental stuff is probably a bit skewed with all the stuff I had to have done (including issues with spacing as you mentioned), lol. I suppose I feel like if I can get ahead of some of the problems I had, that would be good, but then again it's more about his permanent teeth than his baby teeth I guess. Hmm I'll read up on it more and decide!
I left my cell phone at home. I really feel naked without it...and it worries me not having it being this pregnant. Ugh.....I'm going to see if I can beg DH to bring it on his way to work. He hates doing things on his way to work so I don't know if that will fly.
ETA: Thanks to packing my ipad (just in case i go into labor in the next few weeks) I was able to locate it with "FInd my iphone." It's at daycare....ugh. SO much for avoiding the "pregnancy brain" jokes today....
We might get some unexpected visitors with the pediatric dental talk. If I remember correctly, this is a hot button issue on one of the other boards. I'll chime in and say we decided to go "middle of the road" with the conflicting opinions on when the right time is.

Since I'm home today I am going to attempt to deep clean my house. Then get pissed when H comes home and makes it a mess within 5 minutes of being home. I swear he is like a tornado! He leaves a path of destruction in his path.

I have a student this term who is a royal PITA. Like, questions EVERYTHING but then is wrong about it. This is only week 2 of 10, it's going to be a long term.
My dentist in my old city said he doesn't see kids until 3, the pediatric dentist said 1. I decided to meet in the middle and take E when he's 2, so in the next few months.
estrellita, amaranth - Most of the dentists I've worked with have recommended you start as soon as they have teeth. Nothing really happens during the first few visits, but it's a chance to talk to parents about OHI and answer any questions they have. Also, it helps kiddos get used to the environment. It can be a scary place, and it's nice to be able to ease them into it by having a few short, simple visits before it's time to worry about xrays and cleanings and whatnot.
I'm SO HUNGRY! Sinus surgery isn't until 1, but they wanted me NPO since midnight. Blah. Evidence based practice is that 8 hours is good enough, with clear liquids up to 4 hours prior. I would be ecstatic for some apple juice right now, and wouldn't have minded waking up at like 4:30 to eat something.
Good news though... I was able to get my baseline labs for my FET, and my pre-op labs (which includes a beta, lol), done in the same lab, same stick.

I made s'mores krispy treats and they are delicious! I also had coffee cake, BOGO Starbucks, and two beers yesterday. My poor body is totally not wanting any more sugar but I doubt I will comply 100% today. Thinking of doing Starbucks again this afternoon while I can.
I am procrastinating packing for our camping trip this weekend. We leave in 4 hrs.... I do have all the food packed though and most big things. I just need to pack all clothing and all DD's stuff.
I think I might take a break from GBCN and FB in July. So if you don't see me around, that's why Nothing going on, just focusing on work and home projects. I'll be back, no worries
Since I might not be around for the actual day, best of luck to our soon to be mama, MrsMB! I will be thinking of you!
Happy Canada Day and Happy July 4th to everybody!
Thank you, lady!!! Good luck with your projects!!!!

I probably know the answer to this but most of my right side hurts. Close to the ribs mostly, then also into my shoulder. Seems to be getting worse throughout the day. Wtf could this be? I'm fairly sure I didn't hurt anything. And it's not my appendix unless it magically grows back

We will miss you ewall! Good luck on your home projects!
awick14- hope you are getting all your stuff packed and you guys have a great weekend camping!
Along the "when to do the first dentist appointment" talk...our old pediatrician recommended 1. Dentists are all over the place though, some will or won't see a kid that young. C was with me at my last visit and had a super quick look in his mouth (like less than 1 minute)...he was just over 2 years old.
DH got off really early today so that was a nice surprise! We took the boys to Starbucks and are home now. He's mowing the lawn before dinner bath and bed and then we will get to enjoy some beers after we put the boys to bed!
Since my right hand is numb still, it makes things interesting when I try to type or text. I have to go back and fix everything. My H hates when people text him with words spelled wrong so I don't go back and fix it. Muhahaha!

Ok, I'm home now. It's my gall bladder but not, lol. It's a slight bit inflamed and has "sludge" in it so it's not serious but I'll have to watch what I eat and watch for worsening symptoms. I'm so relieved I don't need it out! Stupid useless organs attacking me! Lol
Glad it's not super serious estrellita! My mom has had gallbladder issues off and on and she had to watch what she ate too. She eventually had it out by choice.
We will miss you ewall! And honestly, I probably ought to do the same.
pooh8402 that's probably a good option down the road if I have more issues. Definitely didn't want to do that right now, though he did say the surgery is ok to do pregnant. But I'd very much like to avoid that!
It went well (both the ultrasound and the surgery actually), thank you for asking!
My doctor said my nasal passages were definitely narrowed so he widened them, and I had an extra hole in one of my sinuses, so drainage was actually going back into my sinus through that hole, instead of out through my nose, so he "connected the dots" so to speak, to make one large drainage hole. I'm feeling okay, definitely needing to stay on top of my pain meds (went too long between last night and couldn't sleep). But I'm feeling fine today. My hearing is already a little better.
