mpc- a will is on our list of things to do. But it keeps getting pushed to the side.
One of our hurdles is that we have no idea who would get custody of DD. We were going to talk to my brother and his wife about that but she is due July 5th. Handing over a baby that's 6 months older then theirs maybe hard on them. I think we are still going to ask them but be very prepared for them to say no. If they say no we have no idea what we would do.
@daylily, I feel like I'm very easy going with most things moms find controversial, because I don't give a crap what others judge me for. Lol. I did get blasted for asking about doing food and purees on a mom Facebook group. Because some said that my doctor is wrong to tell me that baby needs more iron then just from breast milk. I guess my doctor is wrong at being cautions because most woman in my family have anemia. (All the woman in my moms family have hysterectomies as soon as they are done with kids as it can get bad)
I have continued to give her carrots and even a few pieces of chicken last night and she did like the chicken. (But didn't eat any just sucked on it) I also have been giving her baby oatmeal and she has been swallowing that. (Approx 1-2 tbsp each meal)
shauni27- I felt the same way. When she was late I was so anxious and people kept telling me just to trust my body and she will come when she is ready. I did ask one person how was I supposed to trust my body with my baby when it had miscarried 5 times already. It's hard.

Whoever blasted you is stupid. Our doctor and the PHNs told me that babies' iron stores deplete around 6 months and that breastmilk isn't enough. It's part of the reason most baby cereals are fortified. There's a hardcore lactivist cult on the island. Most go hand in hand with antivaxers. I have no time for either.
Happy Canada Day, awick14 and dellabear! I'm having mixed feelings about Canada 150, especially as we live right next to a reserve and the First People of the Salish Coast are very important in our community. I did take A out to watch one of the smaller parades, and she had a great time. I hope you're all having lovely weather, beer/wine, barbecue etc.
Thanks loira, we went to the local festivities and it was soooo hot and busy! Then I caught the fireworks with a friend tonight, it's been a long time and I love fireworks. Happy Canada 150!

We all made it home yesterday! Last night went pretty well, E slept great, not so much us. She still has her feeding tube for when she doesn't finish a bottle, and that is a giant pain the butt to deal with. So that adds a lot of awake time for us. I was pretty emotional leaving the NICU. It will be weird not to go there every day and chat with the nurses and doctors. I also have to make my lunch every day now, heh! We have a ton of appts in the next few weeks, so that will be interesting, juggling her feeding stuff and my pumping.

I am so, so happy your family was all home together last night thoseareradishes. You've waited so long for this and I just couldn't be happier for you all!
yay thoseareradishes! I"m sure it's weird/hard being at home on your own after all this time, but it's such a good step forward. So happy for your little girl.
