I'm planning to swing by Sephora and get some foundation samples. I could just ask for suggestions from the sales reps, but I'd prefer to go in with an idea.
Criteria: -At sephora. I have a $50 GC. I'm willing to spend slightly more than that...maybe. I'd prefer to spend rather less than that so I can buy more stuff too.. -light medium coverage - I'm not trying to cover anything significant up, more just looking for a nice even tone -luminous/glowy finish - not sparkly/shiny, but I prefer to maintain some glow
Basically I just want something that looks like my skin on a really great day when I'm well rested and hydrated. But better. Not too much to ask...right?
Currently my go-to is the tarte too many words bb primer. But my taste has shifted or my skin has shifted and it's a wee bit too matte for me and ends up looking a bit cakey around my nose by the end of the day lately.
I'm in no particular hurry on this, so I might make multiple sample runs before I leisurely pick a winner. Where should I start?
The ones that have been on my radar are the Armani luminous silk and the bare mineral complexion rescue (which I think are very different...but I dunno, both sound nice)
Becca aqua luminous is lovely. I also like the Nars mentioned (though i need a beauty blender to sheer it out) and Armani luminous silk. I've heard good things about the MUFE water something or other and Marc Jacobs. Oh and the Nars tinted moisturizer is great too!
And I know you have a GC but Becca is 25% off on their site right now.

I'm loving the new Tarte clay stick foundation. Stays all day (I set it lightly w/ translucent powder). It's a solid medium coverage, but buildable. (You could also use less and get a lighter coverage). My skin looks dewy/hydrated without being oily.

Oh I just saw a YT video from sephora artist David using this. Something like, makeup basics part 1?
OK wawa , looking at your other pic, your face coverage looks a lot pinker than your neck. Or is that just the lighting?
well...I'm not actually wearing foundation today. Just a dusting of powder over my t-zone. So that's either the lighting or just my face.
eta: persa the pinkness I tend to get is basically the only thing I want my foundation to take care of. My skin tends to be fairly clear, and I'm good with my texture - I just get pink. Today's pink may be because (brace yourself for something awful) I think I've started reacting to my go-to daily sunscreen.
I've had issues with most sunscreens since last year, but I thought I was ok with my go-to Japanese Biore formulas, but...I got alittle itchy a few days ago and took three days off of wearing it. Put it on today - my cheeks itch again. Just a hair. hold me.
Armani Luminous Silk is what Nordstroms set me up with when I went in for my consultation a couple years ago. It's a very nice, glowy foundation. But it's expensive. I've been using CoverFX drops with Becca backlight primer, which is working well for me.

Armani luminous silk. You can buy the smaller bottle, that's what I do. It lasts me 1/2 a year for sure and then I g et a fresh bottle during the next sale. There are a lot of shades and you can build it up depending on what you use to apply it. I love it with a beauty blender and I also for some nars illuminator around my face and blend it all in together.
I recently tried the Dior Nudeskin Glowing foundation and it was awesome. Very luminous. I got a ton of complements on my highlight but I didn't have any on, just this. Definitely check it out.

My two favorites for glowy healthy skin right now are the Nars Sheer Glow or IT CC cream. I just get the normal one not the illumination version. I think the illumination one is too sparkly. IT CC comes with the added bonus of spf in it and it really does work.

Guerlain is my HG foundation, although I don't know if they carry it in the stores - I always have to order online. I'm also a pink lady and NARS always seems to go a bit yellow on me!

I read online that the IT cream has some snail cream in it, and I've had an allergic reaction to snail creams in the past. It bums me out because I hear nothing but good things about that cc cream, and I'd like to try it.
