Drink away. You don't share a blood supply until about 6 weeks.
Right! But, does it effect my chances of actually getting PG in the first place? I've read all kinds of crazy googled things. Ya'll know how it is- we try to so hard to get pregnant, don't want to do anything to risk the success of the treatments, but also I don't want to go crazy in the meantime.
ETA: I'm quite blase about having one or two drinks. I abstained during my IVF cycle and during first tri. OH, I did have a beer like 10 days after my transfer, 4 days before my scheduled beta. So I didn't even completely abstain during IVF.
so for IUI I would have an occasional drink or two during the TWW. With IVF I did not, just because it was our one shot at IVF and I was being really paranoid.
However, when we got a negative test at 10DPO I had drinks. Lots of drinks. Color me surprised when the beta was positive 2 days later...
I didn't do any treatments and I was ok with drinking during the 2ww. But I don't think I would have any if I was doing iui or ivf. And that's only because I would want to be more cautious because of the money I would spend on it. But I wouldn't judge anyone who does drink during it.
I did drink up to the day I found out I was pregnant with DD. (I had 2-3 drinks in me when I tested, lol) But the cycle I got pregnant I never got a positive OPK or a temp spike so I assumed I hadn't ovulated yet.

Thanks ladies thinking I might allow myself a glass this weekend.
I hate that I have to wait until 7/10 to test. Seems like so long. I am not going to test at home at all this time because of the trigger. I have no idea when I ovulated and I didn't test out the trigger so I don't want to chance a false positive.
During non medicated cycles, I'd have a glass or two. During IUI the RE strongly suggested no booze the entire cycle. I remember ordering a virgin pina colada on our anniversary last year bc it was three days after our IUI. That first one was successful. I had told my husband on our anniversary that I wasn't sure if I'd keep avoiding alcohol or not going forward with additional medicated cycles.

Interesting! My RE has never said anything about it, but then again I never asked.
I think I will abstain completely next time. Mainly for my sanity. Also makes me wonder about running, etc. I forgot how much I hate this whole process.
