We were foster adopt so no book or any of that but I am certain it would have driven me nuts either way. I recently sold my house and kept a crazy spreadsheet with all the houses in the neighborhood and how long tim they went pending, $/sf, etc etc etc.

Pretty regularly- once approved probably almost daily by e-mail or text. She would also update us though as well. This was foster care adoption, but a private agency was handling the match so their caseloads were more manageable.

With one agency, we were every 3 months checking in. With the agency we adopted through, we were matched immediately so check-ins were far more frequent.
