Work stuff. 2 weeks. Egypt/Jordan/Israel (mostly Israel).

I go every year, used to live and work in Jerusalem, and have lived and traveled through conflict/tense situations before.

But still, ugh.

What do you think? would you cancel? Do you think it's going to get worse?

Have you talked to your job yet? What's their policy on situations like this?

I agree - I'd check with your company and see what the policy is as well as talk to your management and let them know of your apprehension.

I would certainly at least ask about it, myself. I am even a little nervous about flying to Europe next week (though I know rationally that it shouldn't be an issue).

Hmm my gut reaction would be to go. I have been to all of those countries before, during times when others probably wouldn't have.

I agree with checking with your company and getting any relevant briefings, etc.

I'd go. I might not go to Libya right now, but I'd still go to the others. Just keep a low profile. (We were talking about this yesterday, because a colleague has a girls' trip to Cairo coming up)

So I'm going. I'm pleased with how Egypt handled the situation, all things considered. And I'm comfortable with the region and not worried about travel at this point.

I know I'm really late to the post, but I'm currently living in Jerusalem. We'll be here for another 3 weeks. The situation here is very calm and we've had no problems at all. We stay on top of the news and periodically check with our Israeli friends to see how they feel about the situation. Everyone agrees that the situation is tense in the ME but within Jerusalem itself, things are fine. Glad you're coming!
