Last week: I managed to exercise 2 times on the treadmill.
Diet has been okay. I think I have had 2 s'mores and a number of other candies. It does not help since I bought some stuff to make s'mores on Friday because DS likes them and it is just me and DS.
This week: Yesterday, MIL came to visit us and we went to lunch. We went to Walmart to get a cupcakes and a few party favors for the cat's birthday.
DS requested we stop by Target to buy a rock and MIL convinced me to buy some clothes. I have been wearing clothes two or three sizes up since my weight loss and have not gotten the time or the money to get new clothes.
The shirts I got were nice and I liked them.
I got two pairs of skinny leg jeans also that I am not liking too well. It is like I am wearing tape on my legs and my legs look like chicken legs even though I am a size 10. There was no boot leg or flared leg in my new size. DH said I looked good when MIL sent pictures of me trying on clothes. I cut off the tags because DH liked the way I look. I am my own harshest critic. What happened to flared, wide and bell bottom legs? The 80's is the most hideous fashion in my opinion.
I plan to exercise twice this week.
I plan to try to keep to my diet. The cat birthday party is today and I was planning for DS and I to go to MIL's for the 4th of July. It maybe more of a challenge with left over food.
I have to buy some sandals and I don't know when I will do that.
I plan to take back a shirt to Target because DH said pink was not my color.

I finally decluttered my dresser!
Before:
After:
Also, I finally managed to track down the customer service contact for an ultrasonic oil diffuser that I received for Christmas, but it stopped working after several uses. They are going to ship me a new one, and I think it will look really sweet on my dresser.
This week, no big plans other than to try to pace myself a little better. And perhaps remember to take my vitamins.
My desk has more crap on it now than it did a week ago. A pair of shoes to return (niece sent me a pair of random shoes she thought I should have), 2 mascaras(They're Real and Monsieur Big), 2 hats for when I walk (my John Deere baseball and a Tilley), some BSA clippings from the local papers, printed out NYT crosswords for when my mom's recovering from her knee replacement- and that just the top layer. I did make a start and discovered my jury duty summons. FML.
My plan for the week? Get some walks in. I've been doing 3-5 miles in the park most days on the hills. Next couple of weeks are going to suck- 9 appointments scheduled for July including knee replacement surgery that means mother can't drive to most of them.
I haven't done much, but I did make something the it makes me realize a lot of things. For the first time I bring my kids to the temple ( behind my DH back) and it may me feel good about how my kids love to be around and try to chan or prey the mantra. It was so nice to see it, that I'm ready to teach my kids the importance of the practice of this Buddhism.I realize the having something to believe in, is the only valueble thing the I will leave to them, and I'm ready to face whatever trouble I may have with my DH for that.
freezorburn had inspired me to clean off my dresser, which I did...and then cluttered up again about two days later. LOL, I'm a lost cause. I did manage to put all of DD's medical stuff in her binder, but it's already too full to close. I need to create a second one just for EI. I only cried once while doing it, so I'll call it a win. I had plans to move all of her preemie sized clothes into storage/donation, but I just can't move those teensy tiny clothes yet. Maybe next weekend.
I really need to start working out again. I'm a yoga teacher, but I've only taken maybe 5 classes since DD was born and I have to start teaching again next Friday. I'm hoping to get to the lunchtime weights class at my work today, but if not, I'll hit up the gym instead. I have no excuse not to go to the classes or the gym since they're literally just downstairs and I have all my clothes with me, but I always manage to find some reason not to go. If I can start doing this, I'll count it as my 5 minutes on myself.

I quit running and took up speed walking and decided to ultimately train for long distance walking/hiking. I have always preferred walking and hiking to running, but forced myself to run because powerwalking looks silly and hiking requires driving places to do it.
There is an annual 60 mile hike from Washington DC to Harper's Ferry and I have decided I am doing it before I am 40 (3.5 years away). It will require decent amounts of time out of the house once a week for long hikes/walks, but it's only fair b/c DH does the same with cycling. So we will trade weekend days. Time for time to myself.
I'm always terrible at this. BUT I did something huge. I MOVED!!! Previously I was living on the east side of town, working on the far south side, and DD's school is on the far west side. Her camps are a little better in summer, closer to the south or middle of town, but it should be huge when school starts and is still good now as there is less traffic between the south and west, though technically more miles.
Last night I left work at 4:30 as always and was home less than an hour later. I was able to cook dinner, eat, and take DD to the neighborhood pool before bedtime. And emptied the dishwasher while cooking and watching DD play with the dog out the window. It was amazing! Previously from that camp i would get home no earlier than 6:15 and usually more like 6:30.

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've definitely had a harder time fitting in self care since the boys have been home for the summer, especially since I've been trying to job-hunt on top of it. A tad stressful.
The good news is, I talked DH into cancelling a day trip yesterday and hired a sitter so we could spend a few hours together and have a chance to talk through my job options and considerations uninterrupted. Then I had a girls night at a friends house last night as well.
Ugh. She went to the derm the week before and the derm froze a couple suspicious skin lesions including one in the path of the incision she was supposed to have. This decision was made after an early morning trek into the big city with the patient already prepped and pre-medicated. So I ended up having to take my doped up mother home on regional rail. Such fun!
She has another appointment in the city and then dad has 3 next week. Knee is rescheduled for September.
I've dodged day 1 of stand-by jury duty. And my desk is still covered in crap. FML.
