Happy 4th of July!

Has anyone done any celebrations over the weekend or doing anything today?

My softball team is having a small party after our match today at Regents Park.  We have a lot of Americans so it made some sense.

I am wearing my 4th of July t-shirt, and I bought a cake for dessert tonight. If I can find my US flag, I might put it on the table, or in the window.

Other than that, just work and a parents' meeting at school tonight.

I meant to wear my not-blatantly-patriotic USA shirt today:

...but I forgot. (They're titles of films, based in each state.)

A local American commerce group sets up an event in the park each year with local vendors selling food and merchandise. It was on Sunday, and I was planning to go, but I was sick.

So no real festive plans from me.

Late to the party. We met friends for dinner on Sunday, July 4th is his immigration anniversary so we have a fun time with that "Independence" Day.

Tuesday I planned an All-American dinner of chili-cheese dogs, tater tots, corn on the cob, and homemade limeade which was very nice. DH found something called "American Burger Slices" which turned out to be Kraft singles, and they definitely added to the authenticity of the chili-cheese dogs. And he picked up some drumstick-style ice cream cones for dessert.

It was a low-key 4th, but perfect for me.

Happy belated 4th of July :-)

It's a little too hot for a BBQ in Doha, so we hung out with friends inside and had hot dogs, sausages, mac and cheese, salad, etc. It was a lot of fun :-)

I wore my most patriotic and politically relevant shirt (from my favorite Podcast)
