I went back to work yesterday. I think this transition was a big shock to DD, I wish I could go make it easier for her. I am at least able to go nurse on my lunch break each day. She's still not doing so hot with bottles, she only ate 2 oz yesterday. Today she had 2 oz in the morning so I'm hoping she'll have more this afternoon.
It's weird being back at work. I feel so far behind.
I have a very good friend arriving for a visit on Thursday and I'm super excited, but I have a lot of cleaning to do. There are 6 adults in this house, and everyone contributes to the mess, but since it's my friend coming I'm stuck marshaling everyone and assigning chores. Trying to get a 21 year old brother to do any housework is like pulling teeth, but I can't do it all myself. A is so demanding that I'm always playing catch up just to keep on top of our laundry and to do the occasional dog hair removal.
I just got our baby monitor 50% off on Prime Day! I'm so excited. It sold out in like 5 minutes and I got to it while it was 90% sold. Whew!
My parents randomly came down today. They live 2 1/2 hours away and called this morning to see if they could come down for lunch. Mom said my dad's been missing me. Anyhow we went to lunch and then they took me to the mall and bought the baby $75 worth of clothes since I was freaking out about not having enough 0-3 and 3-6 onesies and sleepers. I feel so much more prepared now!
I also got our crib bedding today (in the mail) and i love it! It's better then I thought it would be.
I had my breastfeeding class last night and while some of it was good they crammed it into an hour instead of 2 and I wish they had taken more time with it.
hugs, mpc. I am sure this is tough, but keep telling yourself it will get better! How big was baby, cherryvalance?? They do not do ultrasounds here unless you need them, so they only guess weight based on what they feel during a belly check. konapoppy!!!!! Man, that is amazing, right?? Such a great stage to get to. King26, holy deal. nice work!
Baby can come any day. I woke up this morning with severe pain that I believe is gas pain but I of course panic that it is Pre-e (pain is right at the top of my stomach) and now I can't stop thinking about it. Between the anxiety, back pain and other discomforts, I am just so tired and ready to be done. tomorrow we are scheduling an induction for our due date so we know that he will be here at least by the 26th.

shauni27, the estimate was 6 lbs 15 oz, so he's still on track to be about 8/8.5 lbs. Of course, they remind me all the time that they can be off by as much as a pound, so he still might be gigantic, lol.
I bet it is hard going back to work mpc , Since I teach I'll have been off for 6 months when I go back. I'm glad you can at least go and nurse every day on your lunch. cherryvalance , I can't believe how close you are! That's great baby is looking right on track. shauni27, He'll be here before you know it!

H keeps asking how the beginning of my four month hiatus feels. WEIRD, lol. I love September and we'll have a new-to-our-building principal who I really like. On the other hand, I'll have this little boy, so we'll see .

We got out June 2 this year which is the earliest ever and I go back August 23 (which is my due date) so I'm guessing I'll be out until mid-November so it will be 6 months which is crazy. However, I've been at work every Monday for the last 3 weeks and will be there the next 2 Mondays as well. We got a new part time special ed teacher, a new special ed facilitator, and I'm the full time special ed teacher so I've met with both of them, my principal, and now I'm going back in to meet with my aide one week and my sub another. It's driving me crazy how much I have to get ready since our special ed staff will basically all be new! (cue the panic attack-I'm such a control freak this is goign to be hard) At least my aide is the same.
I'm in the hospital having a baby! They found protein in my urine yesterday and since im 38 weeks they decided to induce. Nothing much happened over night but the plan is to start pitocin in about 2 hours.
And shit, I had a trace of protein in my urine this week too. Stay, baby, lol.
King26, ugh, I know it's so hard to leave the kids with someone else for so long, especially in SPED. I'm waiting for my maternity leave replacement to contact me so I can give her everything .

mpc, good to know! I'm hoping it's a fluke or just a UTI or something simple. I love that shauni27 and I are opposites--I keep telling him to stay in as looooooonnnnggg as he wants .

We are done with appointments for the week, yay! E is such a trooper with all these appointments.
I'm weaning off pumping. I'm kind of winging it; I read some stuff on the internet on how to do it and I'm hoping I don't have too many issues. I'm very prone to clogs so I need to be careful. Anyone have any advice?
Hope your DD settles into your new routine soon mp.
DD took 8 of the 9 oz I sent with her yesterday, which is fantastic! Her teacher says she went through her bottle this morning super fast, which means she's probably gotten the hang of it now. I am so relieved. Now starts the next stress of worrying about pumping enough to keep up with her. oy.
thoseareradishes, are you weaning off the pump so you can BF instead, or are you weaning completely and switching to formula? I have no advice about weaning because with my first I literally dried up unintentionally, just before his first birthday.

mpc, I'm weaning completely off, and we'll switch to formula once my freezer stash runs out. Which, speaking of, the milk in the freezer smells funky. I'm assuming a lipase issue? I feel bad for the kid having to drink it, but she doesn't seem to mind.
That's great news that your DD is taking to the bottle. What a relief for you, I'm sure!

Go slow. Take lecithin (over the counter suoplement) if you're not already. Like 4 pills a day, to prevent clogs.
I didn't start weaning off the pump until 9 months, but I had an oversupply and prone to clogs, so it took me 3 months to wean off completely. I did it SLOOOOOW.
King26, I had a 6 month maternity leave and it was soooo nice. Just the perfect amount of time in my opinion. I had plenty of time to recover, get in a groove with the whole parenting thing, and then actually had time to ENJOY my leave. We traveled a lot, spent a lot of time with friends and family, etc. When I had to come back to work last month, I actually felt ready to. It's so nice your leave worked out that way.
shauni27, OMG I'm so excited for you!!! I can't believe the day is here! I feel like it was just yesterday that you were announcing your BFP.

OMG shauni27 !!! I'm late to the party to see this, but so excited for you!! Stalking for updates...
Got my second beta today - 829 (first was 246) third beta next week! Remind me- the second beta is good right? (I mean I know my RE Said it was doubling right on track, but it's good to know it myself too)

it has been almost 30 hours and no sign of protein anymore and no sign of baby. If no progress tonight then we will go home and wait it out until he is ready to make an appearance. This is frustrating!

Oh shit, hon, I'm sorry. I'm glad there's no more protein, but c'mon baby!
any updates today shauni27? Sorry for the frustration!
DD was all smiles this morning for her daycare teacher. It made me feel more relaxed about leaving her. I'm sure next week I'll be whining 'why does she like her more than me!' lol.
I"m feeling a little like superwoman, taking care of both kids by myself while H is out of town. Although I did make DS skip his bath and go to bed early last night cause I just couldn't take anymore. Tonight I'm sending him to the grandparents overnight so I will just have the baby. It sounds so easy, just having one kid overnight.
I had my 8 week u/s with RE this week and heard the heartbeat. I immediately teared up. We told parents and siblings this week too. I go back at 10 weeks and then released to OB but already have 12 week scan scheduled with OB. I think after my next appointment we'll tell more friends.
