Okay so I am looking for ideas on foods/recipes that are on the healthier side.
I am wanting to slowly get my eating back on track but it's hard to make healthy meals because DH doesn't like "healthy" food lol. I found an Alfredo recipe that doesn't have cream in it, it is milk based (still not the greatest because of the butter though). I made it without tell DH and he loves it. So I'm thinking if I just keep making recipes like this he won't notice. Lol.
Alfredo sauce; 3 tbsp butter (can substitute for any fat of your choice) 2 tbsp flour Pinch of pepper 2 cups milk 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
Directions: 1. Heat butter until melted 2. Add flour, whisk until smooth 3. Slowly add milk, heat until boiling, stir often 4. When boiling take off heat and stir in Parmesan
My husband won't eat healthy either I try to sneak things in but usually he eats the meat and I eat all the veggies. Some if the healthy-ish things he will eat
-Southwest eggrolls made with whole wheat tortillas are a win in our house. I add beans, fajita style chicken, corn, spinach, salsa, and fresh cilantro.
-Smoothies with avocado and spinach/kale plus the fruit and yogurt.
-Mulligatawny soup (although my recipe is nothing like the Google ones so I don't actually know what mine is. I guess maybe I'd call it a curry stew. Lol)
-Sneaking veggies into any pasta with red sauce
-Fried rice (homemade) he will eat the veggies because they're so mixed in.
